Carboneras is an attractive seaside town and remains very...
Carboneras is an attractive seaside town and remains very Spanish, unlike the Costas. It is easy to find your way around. It is peaceful and relaxing and the locals are extremely friendly. They have a small local market every Thursday which is perfect for buying quality fresh fruit and vegetables. The restaurants along the promenade are excellent and offer great fish and seafood dishes. Juan Mariano Beachfront Restaurant is where the locals eat and is amazing, but make sure to book. However if your preference is meat then there are some fabulous places like Asador Restaurante La Quesería and Asador Ajo y Guindilla.

Very typically Spanish, local bars and the restaurant we visited were excellent.
Would liked to have had more time to explore the town.
The beach front was stunning.
Excellent hotel if your taking a dog as beach walks very easy to access.

I have already sent one review but I have just remembered...
I have already sent one review but I have just remembered another item. In spite of promises from the owner and two written requests from me, I never received the Code number for the key safe. I arrived at the property and had to phone the the landlord. Fortunately, he was in and, in Spanish, he gave me the number. Fortunately, I do speak a little Spanish and was able to understand him. Even so, it was a very anxious time which should have been avoided.

Fab bars and restaurants, reasonably priced, friendly staff everywhere we went.
Great walks, close enough to walk to Agua Amarga through the countryside - about 7km.
Good location to visit the rest of Cabo de Gata.
Good shops.

We walked along the promenade and there was a beautiful sunset and it was very relaxing watching the shimmering sea

It was a sweet little town but very hilly.
It was a sweet little town but very hilly. The property was extremely clean and good value for 4 of us. we had a lovely meal at a local restaurant over looking the seashore. fresh fish was delicious, ice cream from the shop was delightful.

The hotel is situated very close to the seashore (5 mins walking to the city beach). The hotel does not have it's own reception - you have to go to the Hotel Felipe (1 min walking) or call by phone - it's on the entrance door.
Also there are a lot of restaurants around so you can easily find smth to eat. However kitchen for the most of them opens after 12AM so the breakfast options are limited with sandwiches. The room price was 45€ so the price was great

Location is stunning with wonderful unobstructed beachfront view. The apartment is very well appointed and a delight to stay in. It's a 2 minute walk to the start of the promenade which then runs the whole length of Carboneras. The town provides an excellent base from which to explore the natural coastal delights of the Capo de Gata regional park

The preserved 'Hollywood days' feel.. approx 4 major movies were shot here on the beach in front of the hotel...Lawrence of Arabia was the main one. Heaps of big time movie stars have stayed here in days gone by...you can feel the vibe straight up...
