It is the whole experience of staying in a historical building which used to be a monastery. The rooms, beds, ceiling, floors - everything is old style but with the comfort of a five start hotel. The rooms are very spacious, high ceilings and very helpful staff.

The owner was so kind and stored our bikes safely in the garage. He also gave us lots of information about where to eat, and even that there was a mass for Santiago pilgrims in the church nearby. The room was spacious, and the hot shower was heavenly! There was even a bath!

The hotel is clean and comfortable and it’s easy to park.

The hotel is clean and comfortable and it’s easy to park. Many of the rooms are quite a walk from the lift so, if you have mobility problems, it’s best to ask for a room near the lift. There is plenty of space within the grounds for children to run around .

The hotel is an old monastery and there are lots of interesting things to see. The rooms have been planned sympathetically so they are comfortable but also interesting. There is a large outdoor space and it’s possible to visit the old church and learn about its past.

Lovely old town,full of quaint Bars and Cafes,cobbled streets,alot of Historical places to explore We ate in the La Corte Restaurant,need to pre book,very popular with locals,food was delicious. Family run,nice atmosphere.

I went to Carrion de los Condes because my ancestors came...

I went to Carrion de los Condes because my ancestors came from there so I went to see it and though it's small, it's lively - I was the first of my family to return there after 300 years and went to the church where many of them got married but despite all that. It is a lively little town with a good number of eateries, a nice looking park and places to drink. The town surprised me to be honest, I was expecting to get there and there would be just one man with a donkey sat on a park bench looking into the mountain, it's nothing like that at all - well worth visiting.

The hotel is situated near the motorway which makes it an excellent choice for people either travelling to Santander or to Portugal from Santander. There is plenty of green space outside so it would be a great place for children to play.The building itself is steeped in history and guests are able to visit the cloisters .

As one of the major stops along the Camino Frances, it is a good choice to stay another day and rest if you need to. Supermarkets, pharmacies, bakery, self-service laundromat, and restaurants/bars all within walking distance. Quiet place.

For me, the hotel is well placed between ferry and final destination in Portugal. From reception, to restaurant and housekeeping, all staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The restaurant had a good selection of well prepared and well presented fayre. The ambience was tranquil and restful. Breakfast provided a wide and plentiful selection of foods.

This is an excellent hostel right on the Camino. Though it’s called a hostel, it’s really more like a *** hotel. Comfortable spotless rooms with a very good adjoining restaurant which serves breakfast from 6.30 am. Highly recommended.
