Two things stand out at this hotel: the staff and the surroundings. The staff is just excellent here. Everyone, from the kitchen staff to the front desk, were friendly, professional, and very helpful. They really made us feel like returning for our next visit, even if the facilities of the hotel are a little dated. The surroundings of the hotel are also worth the stay, just to walk around and under the immense foliage of the exceptionally tall and unusual trees of the hotel grounds. You will absolutely appreciate being able to walk around with your children, freely, without having to check for animal droppings, as pets are not permitted on the grounds. Your children can roam free on its huge grounds, play in the modest, but serviceable, kids park, and most importantly, see touch hear and feel the woods and be in awe of the majestic trees providing shade the whole day. The hotel is very near Fuenteheridos, though you may still prefer to drive to the town due to having to walk a little bit on the main road, and is very well located to visit everything in the area, including the peña, Alajar, etc. Dinner at the hotel must be reserved in advance, and is limited to one choice, but always consists of a filling soup, a main dish, their delicious bread, tinto and casera, and a simple dessert. We stayed for dinner all three nights just so we could relax, enjoy wine, and just walk upstairs to bed after dinner with our children without having to take the car back from the many nearby villages/restaurants. Highly recommended!!

Good breakfast selection including different coffees and fresh fruit along with meats and cheeses!

The personal attention location accommodating & large rooms. The apartment was BIG by Spain standards. Full kitchen included. Fireplace in lounge is amazing.

The hotel is nice, with ample rooms. It was also very quiet as we didn't see any other guests. Everything in Almonaster is nearby and walking around in the village was nice.

The room was large, beautifully remodeled (in a historic building), quiet, and spotlessly clean. The staff (Lucía, Asunción, Virginia, and Javier) were extremely friendly, helpful, and generous. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade pastries and cakes, including an especially fabulous tarta de queso. We had dinner in the hotel one night, and Asunción's cuisine was wonderful. (Dinner is not available every night.)
