Situated on a quiet side street 2 blocks from the cathedral, this small hotel is nestled among other residences. It is close to the museum, and 5 minutes walk to the shopping pedestrian street - or 10 minutes walk to the theater bus stop (91 or 60) which can go to the airport or downtown center. A grocer is near the bus station, and many restaurants are in the pedestrian shopping street. It was very comfortable, and the entry information was provided by Booking.com text message prior to arrival. No issues with entry via keypad. Nice to have the coffee/tea-making with a light little snack present also. I would stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The location is perfect to visit the historical part of town. The breakfast was also great, as it gets served in the café that belongs to the hotel and you get to chose items from the regular menu. The staff was also really kind and helpful. Thank you !

Colorful Capital of Sun and Shopping

The Gran Canaria capital, Las Palmas, has everything that the Canaries stand for: year-round sun, fantastic beaches and great nightlife. However, the largest city of this volcanic island group is more than just a beach resort: its mix of traditional and modern makes it stand out from the crowd.

Colorful Colonial façades line Calle Triana, a top shopping street, while the Las Arenas shopping complex outside the city is much more contemporary in design. The El Muelle shopping center is near Parque Santa Catalina and the surrounding restaurants, bars and clubs are focal points of Las Palmas nightlife, together with the historic Vegueta district.

Vegueta is also home to Santa Ana cathedral, best viewed from the palm-lined square which houses the Canary Island Museum. Around the corner is the Casa Museo de Colón, where Columbus stayed en route to America. No doubt he sailed from huge Puerto de la Luz whose numerous vessels are guarded by a lighthouse and stone castle.

On the opposite side of the promontory is long Las Canteras beach, lined by a promenade providing great mountain views in both directions. The 5-star hotels by the beach are just some of Booking.com’s Las Palmas accommodations options, alongside cheap guesthouses and apartments, all connected by coastal road to Gran Canaria Airport.

I stayed in Maspalomas (vey touristy and a party place), then Puerto de Mogan (small but modern and well kept fishing village, more sedate), and then Las Palmas. I took buses between the three places and back to the airport - real easy and regular. I booked every hotel last minute, which worked fine for me. I found Las Palmas to be more traditionally Spanish. A regular city on a beautiful sea front. It's not all perfect sand beaches and the sea felt powerful. There is a lifeguard and it still felt safe. The weather is so much cooler than the other two places, but still very pleasant. There is a nice sea cooling breeze. The whole place felt safe. Very little begging or pushy sales techniques. The locals were friendly. The architecture in the older part of the town was stunning.

We had a fantastic stay from start to finish. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and looks even more impressive in person than in the photos. Its seafront location is perfect, with plenty of bars, restaurants, and shopping opportunities nearby. Our sea-view room was spacious, stylish, and gorgeous, with stunning views. What made the experience even better was the exceptional staff, who were always friendly and helpful at reception, in the restaurants, and at the bar. We would definitely stay here again.

I loved the promenade it was lovely to walk along in the morning and in the evening. There are plenty of restaurants along the prom and a lovely pub called the The Irish Anchor. Our favourite restaurant was the Madre , which had a beautiful decor and lovely food. We took the bus into the city to see the old town which we enjoyed.

I stayed for a week in Hostel Kite&Surf Nomad House is best hostel in my opinion so far. Have sharing rooms calls dormitories and private rooms. Nice 24hours opened tv room and a very nice roof top. Very friendly, helpful staff. Bar as well.

Las Palmas is one of the two capital cities of the Canary...

Las Palmas is one of the two capital cities of the Canary Islands, and, as such, it offers a wide variety of attractions (historical and otherwise) and a fantastic culinary base, but also guarantees the availability of services necessary for efficient work. Public transportation is efficient, and the city center is well communicated with both the airport AND with the ferry terminal, allowing for easy and relatively inexpensive travel between islands. On weekends, it is a perfect point of departure for roadtrips (if you have a car -- which you can rent either at the airport or in the city center -- within ten hours you can reach most of the must-sees in the island) Definitely recommended!

Las Palmas has the facilities of a capital city and many of the attractions of a sunny holiday resort, including a long & wide beach. The people in shops and restaurants were friendly with almost all able to communicate in English. A great place to stay or just visit.
