There was nothing to like about our stay at Palmera.
There was nothing to like about our stay at Palmera. I would not recommend it. The hotel is not manned 24/7 and the key card system didn’t work constantly and a lot of people were locked out of their rooms all night. That is simply not acceptable.
You only have one floor that has been renovated to a degree of decency all the other floors are substandard, tired and in desperate need of an upgrade. When I booked I was under the impression I had a white upgraded room which is misrepresentation by booking.com and the hotel. I discovered this too late.
Do not bother it’s not worth spoiling your holiday for.
There is nothing to do in Pilar de la Horadada.

We love it & we come every year.
We love it & we come every year. We like the way of life here & the area is quiet. Don’t expect a party atmosphere it is more Spanish, however a lot of English retire here or have holiday homes.

Quiet area. Has a main strip with bars and restaurants. The Strandcafe opposite the beach serves lovely food very reasonably priced. One of my favourite beaches 🏖️. Have been holidaying here for over 30 years

Restaurant Casa Ana in nearby Campoverde was excellent and at 9.50 euros for the menu del dia (menu of the day) was amazing value.
Great walks along the Rio Seco, the coast and around the salt lakes.

It wasn’t our first visit to Orihuela Costa however first trip to Pilar de la Horadada area and it was well worth it. Área is amazing. We really enjoyed our stay. Lovely sandy beaches, great for walking and relaxing in the sun. Very clean and well maintained area for visitors. It wasn’t seasonal but we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the place and we took advantage of it. Visiting beach area first thing in morning to admire the sunrise and/or enjoy the sunset. There’s a Chinese buffet restaurant in the area - highly recommend it. You can enjoy playing tennis as there are tennis courts. Two restaurants on the way to the beach, pharmacy, medical centre, local shop and cash point. All in the area. Honestly you got everything and more in this area.

We have been coming here for over 20 years & it is perfect...
We have been coming here for over 20 years & it is perfect for what we want for a holiday. It’s not a party area so it’s great for families & couples who like a relaxed holiday.
We take our bikes with us so we get to see different areas around whilst enjoying the scenery.
The beaches are beautiful & have lovely sand. There are also lifeguards on some of them. They all have bar/restaurants on them & the food is always good 🙂

The hotel is simple as one would expect from a one star. The location is perfect, within walking distance of coffee shop, supermarkets, restaurants etc. The staff were very friendly and I enjoyed my stay.
