San Pedro del Pinatar is a very Spanish centric resort on...

San Pedro del Pinatar is a very Spanish centric resort on the top end of the Mar Menor. It is easy to walk around with 2 very good beaches on the Mar Menor and a bit further away access to the Med. It has a great selection of shops and restaurants, plus there is a good street market. As it is a Spanish resort we found the price of eating out €5-10 per head less than a traditional tourist resort. All the restaurants we went to were good to great depending on your taste. There are great fish restaurants near the marina and surprisingly the Spanish version of Fish & Chips where they were queuing out the door. This included fried calamari and more. A good few hours out activity is to go snorkelling out of the marina. The hosts on board were brilliant and for a 3.5hrs trip with 1.25hrs snorkelling it was well worth it for €40ph. Plus you practically get a full tour across the Mar Menor. All in all a great place to chill away from the traditional over run Britainized locations.

San Pedro is easily accessible with local transport, it’s a small resort but has everything you need for suit most ages. Not too loud or touristy. Good selection of bars and activities for all tastes. A great place to explore other areas from such as la manga.

We stayed in Lo Pagan which is the about 5mins from San Pedro beside the sea. Lo Pagan is a beautiful area to visit for all ages. Plenty of Activities, great restaurants and pubs and the promenade is really nice for a stroll. Plenty to keep you entertained for a week or so. As its not a popular tourist spot yet, there is limited evening entertainment and we found the locals a bit put out by us tourists.

It is a very quiet, less touristy area. There aren't many hotels in the area, which I think helps keep the international tourist numbers down. Most will be in villas. The water in the lagoon is warm, shallow and very calm. We had a beautiful lunch at El Rubio 360. Definitely recommend it. Beautiful views out across the lagoon. The mud baths are an experience! Once is enough. We drove to Cartagena for a day trip, which was lovely. Again very quiet and calm. Not very touristy at all. We drove round La Manga. It was very very windy, but still warm. The sea was very rough, but a beautiful turquoise shade. More touristy, but felt like it was national tourism and not international. Lots of big high rise buildings. Much preferred San Pedro del Pinatar.

We love San Pedro del Pinatar. We come often.

We love San Pedro del Pinatar. We come often. Anna was a great host. She was very helpful and arranged contacts with other services we needed. Her English is very good and she was very easy to talk with. We do not have a car, we choose to ride our bicycles as a means of transport, it is very easy and safe riding.

It is the ideal location for being in a traditional Spanish...

It is the ideal location for being in a traditional Spanish location with easy access to expat bars if this is what you are looking for. It is a very flat area with unbelievable promenades to walk along. There are many routes that are great for walking with mud baths if you want to try something different . You are never too far from the numerous bars and restaurants in the resort.
