United StatesNever actually talked to or saw any staff. They were very efficient to give me the codes for the building and room prior to arrival. When we arrived to the room - the receipt for payment was on the table. There was water and a cookie on the bed. The room is very simple and small but has everything you need for a nice stay. Great location and easy free parking.

Having visited many times previously, I was, on this trip, a little disappointed.
Some of the better restaurants (eg. Bar Playa) have closed down or changed hands. Some are equally as good (eg Kuss) but others are missed.
What has happened to the night-time economy here is curious to say the least. Restaurants and bars closed by 2100.
This is certainly not the place for riotous nightlife (which is why I chose it) but not sure I want to be sent home by 2100.
The local cabildo need to invest more and encourage more businesses to invest in this place or it will go downhill fast in terms of tourism leaving the only 'resort' on the island as being Valle Gran Rey.
Where to eat: best options I found were #1: La Cuevita -stunning #2: La Marea -small but excellent food #3: Kuss - interesting menu since it has changed hands. Where not to eat (in my opinion) Don Tomate -staff rude and disinterested in clients
Just one more comment: learn some Spanish. It will get you a long way with the locals

It is a quiet and appealing little town with a good choice...
It is a quiet and appealing little town with a good choice of places to eat and drink. A good baker and three supermarkets to choose from. Buses (cheap) and the excellent Fred Olsen Express ferry service can be used to travel to San Sebastian, Valle Gran Rey, etc.

If you want nightlife and action, this is not the place for you. A gentle sea side location with enough restaurants to keep you entertained in the food department.
Beach is black sand and pebble. Gentle shallow water.
There are shops to buyy provisions (at least 2 supermarkets) and a post office but not much else in terms of shops. Nice hand made jewellery shop (although a little pricey)

We stayed at the Hotel Jardin de Tecina which is a great base for exploring the island. The property is beautifully maintained with lovely gardens and good food. There are some very nice places to eat in Playa de Santiago - but our favourite is TASCA ENYESQUE. The food is delicious! It's easy to get round on foot as Playa de Santiago is quite small but a car is recommended for exploring this beautiful island.

The best tip I can give for a visit to Playa de Santiago is you must eat at the restaurant called Juan Gonzalez. The food is absolutely delicious. We ate there 3 times in one week! Playa de Santiago is a great base from which to explore the island and the beautiful walking trails. We loved the hotel Jardin de Tecina - which makes the perfect base.

Nothing too curious to tell about this place. It is quite and I think you don’t have to go to La Gomera for this village. If you come to La Gomera, rent a car and know that there is a lot of hiking going on on the island. The village is a nice place to stay and near the airport.

Casa Moni is wonderfull plays to stay, host was very nice and take care for every details. This place have great interior atmosphere and we feel like at home. We have beautifull terrace with amazing view for Playa de Santiago. That was one for our best holiday place to stay. Thank for everything - Joanna and Piotr

Everything was amazing! After spending 2 weeks in Tenerife and La Gomera it was our favourite accommodation. Great location, walking distance to beach, restaurants, cafes. Very quiet at night. Parking was easy (free of charge in the large carpark in front of the pizzeria). Nicest balcony in playa de Santiago.
