Perfect stay here. Jacob and Isabella went above and beyond. Isabella basically planned my hiking day and got me a private chauffeur that she knows. Since I didn't have a car, this was perfect. He dropped me off and picked me up hours later, brought me to a couple cool spots and drove me to my other hotel after. They also made sure the breakfast buffet was ready early because I'm an early riser. Lots of fun walking in Hermigua! Mirador (s), the beach, cute Bar Pedro. Worth the detour to go to the tourism office. Everything was impeccable. If I come back, I'm staying there 100%

We had a terrific stay at the Triana. The staff are friendly and helpful. We arrived before check-in time on a wet day and we were welcomed. The corner room was large with nice view. Large shower area and bathroom too. It was good to have a fridge, though a kettle and cups would be nice. The weather was poor, but otherwise we would have used the courtyard. The breakfast was excellent: lots to choose from and good coffee too!

Nice hotel in the city centre, the room was smaller but had everything you needed (including a fridge and hairdryer). For stays of fewer nights I think it is more than enough. We were very surprised by the breakfast, buffet style with a relatively large selection (we missed the vegetable a bit), all very tasty.

FAQs about hotels in La Gomera

The Modern Day Example of Prehistoric Times

Located in the Atlantic Ocean and one of Spain's Canary Islands, the picturesque and unspoilt La Gomera is a real jewel of nature. It comprises of shallow dips and high cliffs forged by erosion from its pre-ice age past. The island is home to the the breathtaking Valle Gran Rey, and national parks, one of which is the Garajonay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

La Gomera is a popular spot for lovers of hiking and trail-walking, offering endless opportunities to discover this unique and prehistoric wonder of the world. From its abundance of walking treks and surrounded by sandy beaches, La Gomera is certainly a nature lover’s paradise.   The island is also home to Hermigua, specialising in popular walking holidays, it has a modern town centre, the 17th-century Iglesia de la Encarnación, the 16th-century church and convent of Santo Domingo, and several restaurants.

Christopher Columbus made frequent stopovers to the port of San Sebastián de La Gomera on his voyage to the Americas in order to replenish his crew's food and water supplies.

The region features a great gastronomic tradition, in no smal part due to the lush, diverse vegetation and green banana plantations. Distinctive local cheeses, wines, biscuits, and palm honey help to produce local dishes such as Almogrote, Gomerón and Mistela accompanied with roasted pork, fresh seafood or goat meat. Traditional restaurants and eateries scattered around La Gomera serve these local specialities, along with a variety of international cuisine.   Booking.com offers a large range of accommodation on La Gomera, from traditional country houses to 4-star hotels.

The hotel enjoys a prime location right on the oceanfront in Valle Gran Rey. It sits just steps from a charming seaside promenade, within easy walking distance of several beaches, and only a five-minute drive from the harbor where whale-watching excursions depart. A number of cafés and restaurants are also nearby, and several supermarkets and additional dining options are just a short drive away. The property has three floors, with guest rooms on the first two levels. A large rooftop pool occupies the third floor, where breakfast is also served each morning. On the ground floor, there is an additional dining room offering a buffet dinner (€20 per person) for those who wish to dine in. The overall atmosphere in the area is youthful and welcoming, and that pleasant energy is felt throughout the hotel. Our room was spacious, certainly not new, but very well maintained and clean. The bed, though not particularly large, was exceptionally comfortable. The bathroom was roomy and functioned perfectly. The room also included air-conditioning, a small refrigerator, a hairdryer, and decent Wi-Fi. There is a safe, though as this is a three stars property, the key costs €5 for up to 24 hours. Parking can be a challenge in the evening. There is a large public lot next to the hotel and free street parking, but after around 5 p.m. the area fills up quickly. Fortunately, the hotel offers private parking behind the building for the very reasonable price of €4 per day, an excellent solution if you arrive later in the day. Breakfast is served on the third floor in a very spacious dining area, with the added bonus of a terrace that overlooks the Atlantic, a wonderful way to start the morning. The breakfast itself is excellent and varied, offering pastries, cheeses, cold cuts, yogurt, jams, made-to-order eggs, several coffee machines, and a fresh orange juice press. Service throughout the hotel is friendly and efficient.

Location and the beautiful seaside town with great restaurants nearby. The beds and linen were superb. Spacious bathroom and great balcony. The Mountain View is really a car park view. A relaxed armchair in the salon would be a bonus. However the chairs on the airy corridor were ideal reading spots. Without doubt this friendly hotel is blessed with warm and friendly staff.

Vallehermosso is a dramatically situated village in the mountains. It is a fantastic base for some serious hiking direct from the door within beautiful surroundings. It can be cooler and cloudier compared to the south of Gomera. There are a couple of good restaurants and 2 small supermarkets. Bus service not very frequent. The local people are very friendly and it seems a really nice community.

A quaint seaside town. Peaceful and safe.

A quaint seaside town. Peaceful and safe. Having visited many times previously, I was, on this trip, a little disappointed. Some of the better restaurants (eg. Bar Playa) have closed down or changed hands. Some are equally as good (eg Kuss) but others are missed. What has happened to the night-time economy here is curious to say the least. Restaurants and bars closed by 2100. This is certainly not the place for riotous nightlife (which is why I chose it) but not sure I want to be sent home by 2100. The local cabildo need to invest more and encourage more businesses to invest in this place or it will go downhill fast in terms of tourism leaving the only 'resort' on the island as being Valle Gran Rey. Where to eat: best options I found were #1: La Cuevita -stunning #2: La Marea -small but excellent food #3: Kuss - interesting menu since it has changed hands. Where not to eat (in my opinion) Don Tomate -staff rude and disinterested in clients Just one more comment: learn some Spanish. It will get you a long way with the locals

La gomera is a special place for those of us that have been visiting for many years. Go and give it a go, either you'll love it, or find its just not your thing. The Gomerans are a little, keep them selves to themselves kinda people. The Germans are many and to be honest I find most of them pretty boring, walk all day, throw their fagbutts on the beach and then go to bed early. as for the Bongo drumming, I try to keep clear of that now, but great for the newer visitors.

Great for walking around and getting good views. A viewpoint near the parador is worth the uphill walk. Also good to explore the beach and viewpoint near the port. Lots of lovely bars and restaurants along side streets and near the main square. Great atmosphere during the Three Kings/Epiphany festival.
