Puerto del Rosario is authentic and not inundated with...

Puerto del Rosario is authentic and not inundated with tourists. There are lovely bars and restaurants near the port and in the town centre. . It is a great base to explore the island and is just 15 minutes away from the airport on public transport. A car seems to be essential though to visit nearby towns in the North (eg: El Cotillo, Corralejo, Puerto Lajas) and the Salt museum Salinas del carmen. The South of the island is a 90 minute-drive, through amazing landscapes.

We only had one full day in Puerto del Rosario but enjoyed...

We only had one full day in Puerto del Rosario but enjoyed exploring the old town which has several places of interest, old church, museum and windmill. The coastal walk to the south of the town has several interesting sculptures as does the town itself. We didn't have time to go swimming but the beach looked very clean and inviting!

Nice, busy, authentically Canarian town. Not a resort. There are ( apart from days when cruise ships come in ) few non-Spanish voices to be heard. A real place, which has little of the artificiality of resorts. As such, it would not appeal to everyone. Great shopping and lots of good restaurants. There is a large shopping mall with good shops in it. A bit hilly, however. The front is interesting and enjoyable to walk along. And everyone is friendly!

Puerto del Rosarios is a capital of Fuerteventura and isn't a typical touristic place. At 20-00 are almost no people on the street. Not so many restaurants and cafes to eat. If yon need more touristic infrastructure and entertainment you need to go to Corralejo or Caleta de Fusto.

It is quiet and traditional.

It is quiet and traditional. There are some beautiful buildings and a lot of sculptures and murals. It is a bit run-down - a lot of bars and shops near the sea front are closed. It seems to suffer from a lack of tourism because of the popularity of modern resorts on Fuerteventura.

I did a lot of research and the best value for money car...

I did a lot of research and the best value for money car hire, and I used them for a month, was Autoreisen at the airport. I went for a cycling holiday, but not too strenuous, and there are a good few miles of relatively flat tracks along the sea front, either side of and through, puerto del rosario. I was a little unlucky with quite high winds, a bit out of character for February/March. Aldi, Lidl and the large chain Spanish supermarkets available in easy car distance. I don't know why but the locals and visitors are much more friendly on Fuerteventura than they were on Lanzarote when i went there for a month last year.

Everything was great,host contacted me before my arrival with all detailed instructions how to find a place room,keys etc. Apartment wasn't hard to find and in great location. Apartment is clean and cosy, every amenities what you would think you'll need you can find,huge closet with mini fridge,quiet street and didn't even heard neighbours. Extra points to host Juan,very helpful and amazing host. Its my first time in puerto del rosario and he recommended me everything including were to find supermarket or closest restaurant.

I had an ok stay. It was easy to find the property and I received detailed instructions about self check-in. Apartment is just like in the pictures. Puerto del Rosario is a fairly small town so albeit the location was not really “central”, everything was within short walk (beach, promenade, shopping mall, bus station, port), and it felt very safe to walk around. The street was quiet, there was just some normal noise from the neighbors; bedroom only faced the inner yard, not outside street.

This hotel is based in a central position. Near the sea and the centre. I had a sea view room on the 2nd floor and the view from the balcon was wonderful. Staff is wel coming, nice and friendly. This hotel is 5 minutes by taxi from the airport. Definitely a good solution if you stay in Porto Rosario. I likes it.

Fabulous apartment.. excellent location in the centre of Puerto del Rosario but still quiet . The shared Terrace with hot tub is an added bonus . The apartment itself was clean well furnished and equipped with everything we needed
