An experience we will not forget, this house is full of history, and interest. The layout of the palace’s rooms authentically take you back in time. The interior design was done some time ago by a famous Portuguese designer, and the high quality of the objects and materials reflect a fine artists touch, and again takes you back in time. Despite the historical feeling, the private bedroom, bath, and sitting area was quite comfortable. Above all of this, the manager is one of the nicest, caring people we have met. He went above and beyond to take care of us. Truly we have not had anyone take such care of us before. I usually don’t write reviews, but I feel it would be wrong of me not too after experiencing such a high level of service.

We had a great time in this hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast we ordered the next morning was great. Good location I— a short drive to the center of the old city. And we had free parking at the hotel !

A two night break is probably enough in Trujillo, it is quite a small town. Being the birthplace of Francisco Pizarro led to us exploring the history in more depth, and the walk up to the Castle is essential as the views are incredible. Take care to bring some cash, cards are not accepted in the Castle and some churches

Lovely city, well recommended.

Lovely city, well recommended. Good food generally and we found one superb restaurant. People tend to eat later than many areas so be aware of this. Plenty to do for a 2 night stay. Very interesting place.

Trujillo is a fascinating historical city with plenty to see...

Trujillo is a fascinating historical city with plenty to see. Take time to wander the streets and visit the museums. The Tourist Office, whilst helpful, could not offer guided tours in English and our 2 hour tour in Spanish was challenging even if you have a good level of Spanish. But it did introduce us to back streets which I didn't see the last time I was in Trujillo. It is also only just over an hour by car to Guadalupe, Caseres, Placensia and the National Park. Stunning scenery. We lucked out the first night finding the amazing Alberca Asador restaurant near to our hotel. There are lots of restaurants in the main plaza for all tastes with a more holiday vibe.

Losing yourself in the maze of the walled precinct off the main square is definitely worth it. There are many hidden treasures so a tour is definitely worth it. Bonus tip: Trujillo at dusk is a sight to behold.

Our review of Trujillo was very good, the locals helpful in giving us directions of the different places to visit. The weather was great with 24 degrees Celsius and a cloud free sky on the 31sr of March and the first of April. The town is small and lies in a western hillside facing the planes below. The streets are narrow and do not invite drivers to speed through. We felt that with respect and courtesy to the people walking in the streets, driving is possible, but the best way of enjoying the views of the town is by foot. There is no lack of places in Trujillo for quenching your thirst or filling your stomach. The nerve center of the town is the Plaza Mayor and the best views of the town and surrounding scenery from the ramparts of the fortress on the top.

Everything in Trujillo is wonderful.

Everything in Trujillo is wonderful. The old mediaeval city, where all tourists stay, has accommodation for all budgets, and it's all good. The city is small and perfect for strolling around in cobbled streets. If you have a car stay on the outer roads because the city streets are really narrow. There are regular coaches from Madrid throughout the day, and one each day from Barcelona. Cáceres, 45 minutes away has lots of coaches to every Spanish city, and to Lisbon in Portugal , plus a mainline railway station. This was Spain's capital after the Conquistadors were in Mexico and Peru. Many Spanish people consider it to be the most beautiful of their cities - quite a claim since Spain has the highest number of UNESCO cities in the world @15. The restaurants are ALL astonishingly good, all on the Plaza Mayor or streets off it, with fabulously presented food. Classics and modern Gastronomía at mid level cost. The smaller cafés all offer brilliant Spanish breakfasts and cakes at excellent prices. The whole region offers some of the best birdwatching, walking trails and landscape photography in Europe. Other marvellous cities that are 1 or 2 hour drives include Plasencia, Cáceres and Merida. It's also perfectly possible to visit Portugal for the day from here.

Nice hotel in old, opulent townhouse. Rooms are spacious with very high ceiling and good materials. Breakfast with limited but fine selections. The ambience is perhaps leaning towards weddings or other large scale festivities but its a nice place to stay for work or tourism in Trujillo as well.
