Breakfast and dinner were included in our plan during our stay. Both were very good and dinner can be classified as "fine dining". The best thing for the room was that there were no lights around when we were looking out from the windows and thus could see the Northern Lights even in the room. Toiletries in the rooms were just brilliant. Staff were so helpful. Loved the classic type Finnish sauna.

Ivalo was absolutely beautiful , it is a small town but the experiences you may want to do are on the doorstep . This is a quieter peaceful Lapland resort which is ideal for adults wanting a peaceful retreat.If you have young children you may prefer Rovaniemi.

Ivalo itself was cute.

Ivalo itself was cute. Not too touristy, much quieter than places close by and everyone so friendly with a well stocked supermarket. Not too many places to eat but it depends what you’re looking for. As a young family, it was perfect for us!

Ivalo is not big, but it is strategically positioned between Rovaniemi and Inari. Amazing location to admire the northern lights and visit Inari. Nature is incredible and it looks less touristy than Rovaniemi.

Best place to view Northern lights.

Best place to view Northern lights. Unique Husky ride , and snow mobile tours. Winter sports like skiing , cross country , snow walking. Dreamy Winter Wonderland landscape ! Everything covered in snow is a picture perfect view . Stay in a Glass Igloo cabin to view Northern lights ( weather permitted) Renting a car is highly recommended , easy to get around even on an icy road . We used Alamo . Excellent car . Book all your tours in advance to avoid disappointment . Have fun and enjoy the cold . Be prepare to bring thermal clothing . Ivalo is a perfect Winter Wonderland Destination !

Ivalo is a quiet place for nature and sport lovers.

Ivalo is a quiet place for nature and sport lovers. A great place to take a rest from busy life and see SNOW in time of climate change. The shops in the centre offer everything you may need and even far in the forest your mobile will still get the signal.

We enjoyed watching the northern lights in the outskirts of the city ... Dont expect the colorful northern lights as you see it in the photos and videos in the Internet , mostly it will be in white color only... Ivalo Hotel club nord and northerlightsriders.fi arrange the best tours which we hired. They showed us the lights in the better places around Ivalo and inari... Apart from norther lights, snowmobile, skiing and other sports activities are available but we did not try those things.

As we were a group of 4 friends, we had taken an apartment and the experience was simply extraordinary. We had a very spacious apartment with all the amenities and facilities listed in the listing. The highlight was the sauna and the fireplace in the apartment which were the highlights of our stay. The staff was also friendly and there were many activities provided by the hotel which we booked at the last minute and the prices were super competitive. They were very punctual and friendly and had an amazing experience staying at Kultahippu

The hotel is located on the edge of lake Inari and in winter it’s beautiful. We were able to snowmobile, walk and aurora sight see from the frozen lake, as well as ice fish. The restaurant offers fantastic breakfast options from fruit, verbenas, cooked food and waffles. Evening meals are a set main with vegetarian or meat option. Then there’s unlimited buffet started of salads, soups and breads. Being adult only makes the experience very relaxing and enjoyable and near such a natural beauty spot it’s perfect.

Very, easy received all instructions well in advance. Key box is jst next to the door and easily accessible. Communcation with the owner is smooth, quick and very friendly. It was snowing heavily one day and we cam eback to a prefectly cleaned parking spot and entrance. Struggled tiny bit with the heating system but I should have just read the instructions. The cabin is very well equipped and super clean. The location is beautiful in quiet area of Ivalo just next to the river.

The location at the frozen river was very beautiful. The staff was exceptionally helpful, the guide Tomas was extra kind and most surprisingly he speaks excellent Slovak:) We rented cross-country skis directly at the property and explored the forests and area around which was a breathtaking experience. It is not too far (walking/skiing) to Ivalo city where you can do grocery shopping if you need or buy souvenirs.
