The whole town is in the middle of nowhere, even by Finnish standards. But then again, this is probably the appeal :) There is a train stop though on the Helsinki-Kuopio-Oulu line for Paltamo, which is about a 10 minute walk prom the property. There are big stores and a petrol station too nearby, and of course the river and the lake, which are beautiful. You can swim too, if you want. The property is a large and fairly luxurious private home by appearance, divided into some private bedrooms and generously large common areas, like kitchen and bathroom. All very clean at the time of my visit.

Pätkä is located in Paltamo, just 23 miles from Kajaani Train Station and 29 miles from SuperPark Vuokatti. This property offers access to a patio, free private parking, and free Wifi.

I give top credits for the extremely lovely breakfast, it really melted my heart! The hotel itself is a classical finnish hotel, a bit nostalgic, but everything you need is there. We had a lovely view to the amazing wooden church of Kajaani. All in all a pleasant stay.
