Clean, modern, GREAT facilities. An amazing relief after two years of horrible hotels (unclean, old, carpeted floors) in the US. Saw cleaning too and they seemed to have enough time to properly clean rooms and change glasses etc, wonderful. The restaurant has an amazing selection of vegan breakfast items.

What can I say! This was my 4th stay at Sahanlahti and as every time, my only big mistake was to have stayed just 1 night. The location by the lake is just beautiful, the rooms are so well done and have a friendly, welcoming vibe, the staff are helpful, the breakfast on a terrace in the morning is a treat. During the day there are other people around visiting the facilities, and there is a small harbor for a few boats, but it all comes together to being one place of life and relaxed enjoyment and nature. For me, it does good to my stressed soul every time I stay there. Highly recommended.

Loved everything about staying in the 2 bedroom Villa, especially the beautiful view of the lake through all the trees and the deck for relaxing with nature all around. Very comfortable beds and pillows, great WIFI, lovely rooms and big sauna, everything spotlessly clean. We had a tasty smash burger at the summer grill so didn't have to prepare our own meal the day we arrived. Perfect location and place, we just had one night and didn't want to leave.

Breakfast was excellent, with a wide and varied selection. The room was large, comfortable, clean, and pleasant. My daughter really liked the pool, and we were happy that there wasn’t a big crowd, so sometimes we could use the pool all by ourselves. The lake outside, with fishermen on the ice, was also lovely — it created a feeling of peace and quiet.

Amazing place to relax and enjoy nature. Good atmosphere in the camping and with a lake in front of it. I stayed in a small cottage, and it had everything I needed. Big fridge and microwave inside the room. I rented a bike in the restaurant and cycled to Purkahanju. It's beautiful! There are also a lot of hiking trails around the area.

Point blank by Koli National Park. Nice, helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Wonderful spa. I really enjoyed watching the skiers and snowboarders head down the hill. Got to see the Northern Lights.

Came for an opera, spent a full day in the city.

Came for an opera, spent a full day in the city. Everything is in walking distance, so that is sufficient to see the city and the castle. Area is rich in nature, so a longer stay would include seeing the surroundings. Train connections are relatively few and in principle connected to main trainline, but there is not much room for delays.

Lovely city for a weekend break.

Lovely city for a weekend break. Lively cafes and restaurants. Evening stroll in the center was nice despite the unfriendly weather. This city has the atmosphere and little gems tucked away; waiting for you to discover. I loved the port with the small bistro and Italian restaurant with life music!

It is a small town with not much to see.

It is a small town with not much to see. The sauna is "a thing" there. So I think it is a MUST to experience in a Nordic town. The food was not so great. However, the vegetables and fruits at the market square were fresh and delicious.

Nice little corner of the lakeland area.

Nice little corner of the lakeland area. Great for nature walks and water activities. The whole area felt very peaceful and I hope we can come back another time. On the Saimaa geopark website you can find some nice walks and things to do in the area but if you like forests and lakes and quiet surroundings you’ll be good here no matter where you go.

Koli National Park was formed by tens of thousands of years of erosion during the Ice Age, so the trails and hills are covered with large and small rocks. There are rich landscape changes during the journey. In autumn, the leaves are dyed red, yellow and orange. With a variety of colorful scenes, Koli National Park is a great place to enjoy autumn scenery. Climbing up the hills, you will see a 180-degree view of the lake unfolding in front of you, and you will be shocked by the magnificent scenery - and the trails are also very beautiful. The signs are very clear, so you don’t have to worry about getting lost if you’re walking alone.

Resort Järvisydän offers excellent activities for everybody: cruises to Linnansaari National Park (by ship or yacht), seal watching trips, dinner cruises, forest cafe etc. Remember Hakoaja Village made of ancient logs pulled from the bottom of the lake, too.

The resort is well signposted and easily accessible from the main road. The shop and restaurant were good. A buffet breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The dinner menu was also good value for money. Beautiful location and plenty of walks/cycling ways from the front door. In the Summer months, there is big play park for children, with water slides, climbing frames, etc., in the adjacent holiday resort. This is one of the most beautiful areas of Finland.

Beautiful city, marketing is not working, should have more event advertising. Will not stay at the Spa Hotel Casino. Ate at the Muikkuterassi at the rooftop of Sokos hotel at the center market area . Also ate at Ravintola Majakka. Would recommend both places. Nice walking town.

The rooms are comfortable and don’t seem like run of the mill hotel rooms. It was once a school. I really liked my room but the windows barely opened and it was a very hot day and night. The breakfast was very good with plenty of variety.
