EstoniaThis new hostel is pretty immaculate, everything is super clean, there is a neat kitchen with all you need, cosy homelike common hangout area, and rooms are also cosy with just 4 beds in each. For Finland the price is pretty great value. During my stay on the last day of May the place was completely empty (a treat for introverts like me lol) and it was very quiet through the whole night (I am a light sleeper so I appreciate it very much). Check-in instructions were given very clearly, you can do a self check-in whenever you like, communication was good. The town of Tammissaari/Ekenäs itself was beautifully atmospheric Nordic small town, walk to the town centre would be longish but enjoyable from the hostel, by bike it is very near.

Having visited Finland regularly for fifty years, Tammisaari...
Having visited Finland regularly for fifty years, Tammisaari (Ekenäs -it is majority Swedish-speaking), has to be one of the most beautiful and interesting small towns in Finland. The historic old town, surrounded by the sea, the newer town with good shops and facilities and reasonable public transport and links to Helsinki and Turku, make it so attractive. Just beyond the town is the green area of Ramsholmen and Högholmen with a bathing beach, kilometres of woodland walks, and in summer refreshments. Come in spring for an amazing display of wood anemones. The local people are also very friendly and helpful. Our special recommendation is Finland's oldest cinema, the Bio from 1912, tastefully modernised and showing contemporary films in Helene Schjerfbeck gatan. A trip down to Hanko by road or on the train is worthwhile, the southernmost and sunniest place in mainland Finland, with fine old houses, excellent beaches and an amazing view from the water tower of the archipelago and open sea May to September.

The majority of the population are Swedish-speaking, so be prepared to find the town called Ekenäs. It has to be one of the most beautiful small towns in Finland, perfectly situated on all sides by the sea, with a long seafront promenade and tracks into the surrounding countryside. The town centre is mostly modern, but surrounded by streets of characterful wooden buildings. Plenty of coffee shops, eateries and craft shops. Don't miss the Bio cinema in the old town, small and modern, but dating from 1912, with plenty of current films. Ekenäs is ideally located to reach Hanko, another interesting seaside town, the superb Front (military) Museum, and the historic Fiskars town.

Tammisaari is a wonderful summer city.
Tammisaari is a wonderful summer city. You have the beach close at hand, a nice restaurant (Fyren) and everything is close. Other cities, such as Hanko, Karjaa and Fiskars are also close by. You should definitely have a car, rental or otherwise, to easily move around and to get to Tammisaari in the first place. Once you are in Tammisaari and especially if the weather is sunny, it's nice to just walk around because the city is so wonderful in the summer. The people are also very friendly.

The location is excellent, right in the center of Tammisaari, only 3 minute walk from harbour and 5 minutes to Chappe art museum. Free parking right in front of hotel. Hotel is charming in pretty much original 1970's style, some furniture is worn but everything is in working shape and clean. The junior suite was very charming.

Clean, spacious, well appointed apartment.
Comfortable beds with good pillows, clean & fresh linen.
Excellent bathroom with plenty of room to move, good towels.
Undercover car park a bonus - Tammisaari gets very busy in good weather.

Small family-style hotel well in line with the general atmosphere of this fabulous little coastal town. Clean, quiet and functional. The rooms are small but adequate and the sea view is food for the soul. The breakfast has everything you need.

Lovely, quiet place in a green area, 2 km from the small beautiful ‘wooden houses’ town of Tammisaari.
The hostel is a good feeling house with well equipped kitchen and living room. 300 m further on there is a swimming beach on the lake.
