What a beautiful property. All staff were welcome and kind, they rushed through a bag of laundry for us to be ready same day and did not charge extra. Dinner at the hotel was also delicious, service excellent, would do again. If you are driving around the area it is so nice to come home to parking as well. The location is such that you do not need a car to thoroughly visit Amboise itself. It was a high end experience without feeling pretentious or rigid in any way. The room and bed were very comfortable, the mattress was firm and bed large enough my husbands feet did not hang off the bed - can be tough to find in Europe.

Quaint hotel within walking distances to the castle and many restaurants. Loved the air conditioning!! Free street parking was great - had 2 reserved spots just in front of the hotel. Nice buffet breakfast. Great service!

Make sure to spend a day biking (we used Loire Bikes) in the Loire. We e-biked to Chateau de Chenononceau which was the highlight of our trip! Stunning scenery along the river, gorgeous weather, unbelievable photos! We had a fantastic dinner at Restaurant Les Arpents and at several other restaurants in town. We enjoyed our tour of Leonardo da Vinci's Chateau du Clos Luce which was easily walkable from our hotel. We highly recommend staying in Amboise - our 4 days were perfect!

My wife and I used Amboise as a home base while visiting...

My wife and I used Amboise as a home base while visiting other parts of the Loire. I loved the atmosphere of the town, walking around with the chateau and chapel viewable from most parts of town. The town has a lot of medieval charm , too. As a starting point for route 47 (cycle route to Chenonceau) it is ideal. The train station was a 3/4 mile walk from the town. Clos Luce’s gardens are gorgeous. My wife thought we exhausted the restaurant options after about 3-4 days. We would probably try Tours next time, but we loved Amboise’s charm.

A lovely picturesque town with multiple Chateaux, good restaurants, shops and supermarkets. It's an excellent point from which to explore the region (especially by bicycle). We ended every ride with a beer at Cafe Des Arts on the main pedestrian street.

Amboise is a small town with pleasant old quarters located below its hilltop chateau along the Loire River. It’s been here since Roman times and an ideal base for exploring the best of the chateaux located in Loire Valley.

We really enjoyed Chenconceau Chateau, didn't really enjoy Amboise Chateau by comparison (it was much smaller so not such good value for money). Amboise town was oozing charm, great places to eat, lovely Christmas lights.

Lovely boutique hotel with very comfortable rooms, 5 minute walk from the chateau and all the restaurants/cafes etc.. and dog-friendly. Good breakfast. So nice in fact that we cancelled our hotel for the return trip so we could stay here again.
