"Tours was full of life. Beautiful historical buildings, tree-lined cobblestone streets, small streets lined with cafés, restaurants, bars, pastry shops, flower shops, clothing boutiques. So much to do and see! It was also close proximity to many beautiful historical chateaus, castles and the beautiful countryside. Places like "Parc du Château de Chenonceau", "Château d'Amboise" and my favorite "Le Château du Clos Lucé - Parc Leonardo da Vinci", Leonardo Da Vinci's final destination. The home and grounds are full of his inventions! We were in the area for only two days but we will definitely return."

"If you are considering a trip to the Loire Valley, we recommend Amboise as the hub. Why? It's a charming village right on the Loire River with it's own chateau right in the town. Much smaller than Tours, close to the rail line, affordable and attractive hotels and B&Bs, and close to premier chateaux such as Chenonceau and Chambord. Lots of restaurants and cute shops."

"The center of the city was delightful and it was a good place to stay while visiting chateaus and vineyards. I would recommend the B and B we found-Maison Romy. Beautifully decorated in a historic building just below the fortress. Fantastic breakfast, private rooms with all new renovations.Sweet sisters that own it."

We stayed in this hotel in May 24 when cycling to the Nice. We liked it so much we wanted to return and we did so in July 24. We were two people and a medium dog and we were given an room in the attic. It was simply too small and unsuitable. I made a "move" request to reception and we were moved to a larger room at no extra cost. Thank you. When making a booking online maybe booking.com should flag that the room is an attic room. The hotel was the old Palace de Justice that was repurposed/refurbished in 2019 and it is magnificent. The town has some good restaurants and well worth exploring. Market day on certain Saturdays during the summer, worth checking if they are weekly or monthly Saturday market days.
