We stayed in this hotel in May 24 when cycling to the Nice. We liked it so much we wanted to return and we did so in July 24. We were two people and a medium dog and we were given an room in the attic. It was simply too small and unsuitable. I made a "move" request to reception and we were moved to a larger room at no extra cost. Thank you. When making a booking online maybe booking.com should flag that the room is an attic room. The hotel was the old Palace de Justice that was repurposed/refurbished in 2019 and it is magnificent. The town has some good restaurants and well worth exploring. Market day on certain Saturdays during the summer, worth checking if they are weekly or monthly Saturday market days.

Large room with large balcony. Bed and pillows very good quality. Having a nice bedroom is a thing but what you are looking for is a good sleep like home. The breakfast buffet was amazing 🤩 and it was very very clean.

Had a lovely 2nd stay at Les Troglos.Celine and Steve were very warm and welcoming and spoke good English. They kindly arranged an evening meal for us in a local restaurant. Lovely breakfast with local produce altogether a memorable stay.

Loches has a special place in my heart as it was the first French town that I spent any significant time visiting. A lifelong friend lives near Loches and my visits have always been highlighted by the days I spent in Loches at the markets, restaurants, walks around the town and the viewing of the castle. It just hits all the targets for me!

I'd never heard of Loches, but it's a real gem.

I'd never heard of Loches, but it's a real gem. Totally preserved medieval city with really beautiful buildings and a real community feel. We were lucky enough to be there on market day also, which was a real treat.

Beautiful old city.

Beautiful old city. Lots of lovely buildings and the City Royale in particular is stunning. Go on market day (Wed and Sat) when the place is buzzing. Lots of good cafes and restaurants (Ma Pet't Restau is our favourite)

Loches is full of history and we learned a lot about Valois kings and queens, not to mention medieval brigands and characters. The Saturday market was great fun - and much larger than we expected. Many great places to visit in the vicinity. Definitely bringing walking boots next time!

We only had a morning to look at the royal castle/town...

We only had a morning to look at the royal castle/town inside its walls. You really need a day if, like us, you are interested in historic buildings, and there was a lot elsewhere to see in the town which we know we missed. We shall have to return. No problem (with advice from the proprietors of where we stayed) finding somewhere to eat in the town on a Monday evening.

Loches is the perfect little town with lots of history, cute...

Loches is the perfect little town with lots of history, cute shops and plenty of places to eat. It has a beautiful walk along the river and plenty of green spaces as well as the historic buildings and cobbled streets in the old town. Everything is within walking distance.

It is what it says on the tin. Very clean. The renovation has made great use of the space. Beautifully decorated. Good value as it is difficult to book a place to stay in Loches. The kitchen area has plenty of crockery and utensils for those who want to cook and we were grateful for the mint teabags/coffee as we arrived late. The host was available to message at all times.
