After a long drive, it was so easy to find. Lots of street parking with a convenience store less than a block away. Nice to have the restaurant next door. There is no need to search out a place to eat. The owner was very friendly and accommodating to my lack of French.

Very handy location for the airport. I wasn't expecting much, but actually it's a really charming small hotel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and the restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. Very comfortable bed!

What Guests Said About Bergerac:

Bergerac is a fabulous place to visit.

Bergerac is a fabulous place to visit. It’s steeped in history and delivers a wonderful experience of French town culture. The ancient architecture has been brilliantly preserved and is sympathetically integrated with the younger buildings. There is a special “calm” atmosphere within the town and we found the local French people very friendly, polite and welcoming. Looking forward to revisiting.

We loved the river area, tourist office is so helpful and in a beautiful building with wine tasting. River trip enjoyable. Restaurants very good. Avoid the Greek one though, just dreadful. Les Halles food market well worth some time.

Lovely old town. The river and the riverside are beautiful. The people were really friendly. We appreciated the free navette service which allowed us to access different parts of the town. We loved Parc Pombonne, a beautiful green space with excellent swimming.

Beautifully restored ancient center with authentic buildings and many interesting local restaurants and shops. The city has gone to efforts to create beautiful public spaces and ensure that visitors can explore the city center fully. There's a great free museum which explains the history of the city, as well as beautiful plazas and streets. Outside of the historic center it's not as well developed or beautiful but I would say it's fun to walk around for a day. There are some excellent restaurants!

It is a lovely medieval town, kept that way too.

It is a lovely medieval town, kept that way too. Lovely bars and restaurants, two museums, however not too much else to do. We did not have the time to go on a river trip, which would have been lovely. Overall a lovely town.

Bergerac is a beautiful town in the Dordogne, we loved walking around the historic area, it feels very safe and is hilly enough to add to the character but not too hilly to spend the whole day walking around. The Port on the Dordogne River is nice, we did the boat ride, you don't see much as far as houses or buildings but there was plenty of wildlife to see, Osprey, Egrets and they even found a Kingfisher for us so see. One entire day there or 2 short days is enough. We filled the other 2 days with excursions to Chateaux.

Ecclectic interesting wel cared for old dame. Decor great. Rooms large and comfortable. Its not quite in the centre of the old town but…. We had two issues. We were in the rear bedroom so no road noise but a terrible winning noise from a neighours machine/ac even with windows shut and ear plugs. The owners need to sort this and the towels were useless. Both these items hopefully the owners will address

Location, for me, was perfect. Opposite the railway station and also the bus stop (and taxis) for the airport. The hotel was a 10-15 minute walk into the old town centre area. It was a clean/simple hotel offering good value for money for my one night stay in Bergerac.
