We needed somewhere to stay before catching the ferry from Cherbourg and having trawled lots of accommodation we chose this property based on its excellent 10/10 rating – and we were not disappointed! From the moment we arrived, we were wowed! The property is located in a quiet little hamlet with just a few other homes – peaceful and tranquil, exactly what we like. The building itself is beautiful, with a mini turret on one side which turned out to house the spiral staircase leading to the bedrooms, lounge, and bathroom. The ground floor has a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, and cosy seating space. We were warmly welcomed by the owners. Although they didn’t speak much English and our French is limited, their son – who speaks excellent English – was on hand to help with check-in, which was seamless. Even though we only stayed one night, it felt like a home from home. The house had everything we could possibly need and was absolutely spotless. The beds were very comfortable, the shower was gloriously refreshing after a long travel day, and we were even able to relax with Netflix on the TV. The owners have clearly put so much thought and care into this property – they should be very proud. We couldn’t fault a single thing and would happily stay again if we’re ever in the area. Highly recommended!

My stay was disappointing when told on arrival the restaurant was closed, with no prior notice having booked this hotel 6 months in advance with the fact there was a restaurant on site. The breakfast was very poor with very little choice. Had I known the restaurant would be closed I would have cancelled my booking.

If you visit from Sunday to Wednesday there may be an issue with evening meals as most if not all of the restaurants are closed which is a shame. On our last visit the DonJon restaurant used to be open but sadly it has changed hands and is no longer open of an evening. The only bar that was open was a bar tabac with most of it's clientelle being gamblers. The drinks were welcome but closed at 19.00hrs! We will review our future stays here as the overall facilities are not open and a baguette does not surffice!

Beautiful town with lots of independent shops including boulangerie's and supermarkets. Only found one restaurant open on the evenings of Monday & Tuesday - DomJon Hotel which saved our bacon to coin a phrase!

A nice town in a great location, near to the Ferry Terminal (about a half-hour by car) and clean and tidy. Like all French towns there can be a severe shortage of restaurants on some nights (we stayed on a Wednesday and there was only one place open - thank goodness it was really nice and the owners was very welcoming- and with a good Chef!

The young man that greeted us was good

The young man that greeted us was good The rest of the staff seemed tho hover all the time & seemed to not know what they were doing The food really wasn’t up to the standard that we’ve had before & the (mature de) was very rude because we wanted to pay all together at reception & we also didn’t have money on us at dinner myself & my friend were watched over like a hawk by her while our partners went to our rooms to get money & made to feel very uncomfortable It’s such a shame because we’ve stayed many times as have lots of our friends ,but I think it’s unlikely we would go back

staff very pleasant, the hotel is built within / based around a very old chateaux and parking outside in a secured area a big plus and some nice restaurents around within walking distance. Automatic bollards on entry are a little unnerving and pre warning of how to enter the car park would be useful but atmosperic places like this are a big bonus compared to the ultra modern holiday stays

Was allowed to park inside the chateau grounds despite a message telling us we couldn't. There again, everyone who was staying parked inside the grounds. Restaurant was open so was able to eat as food other than burgers is not freely available in the town. The new owner has just taken over the chateau which we applaud and he is changing things at the hotel.

We had a wonderful night At Chateau de Bricquebec, after parking in the stunning courtyard, we were blown away by the grand staircase. The rooms were well appointed with modern fittings and the breakfast was delicious. We were treated to a warm welcome in the newly reopened restaurant where the staff made our birthday celebration dinner a night to remember.

Fabulous to stay in the environment of the castle...dining room in particular is fab. Great continental breakfast. Obviously the rooms aren't modern...but everything is clean. Would recommend no problem. Don't depend on the bar etc being open...no staff in situ in hotel except for to check in and at breakfast. That's fine..as long as you know.b
