A fantastic Hotel in a great location. Central to everything and within easy walking distance to restaurants and bars. Staff and owners were very friendly and helpful. We parked the car just behind the hotel which was great.Room was very clean, light and had air con. Bathroom was very clean with a large shower. Bed was very comfortable and roomy.There is a market a couple of times a week just in front of the hotel.

The staff was very helpful in many ways, from check-in, storing our baggage after check-out, adjusting room temperature, giving directions, and making a restaurant recommendation. The restaurant was wonderful. Easy location after train ride from Paris.

Hotel La Truffe Noir is an absolute gem! The building is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and well-maintained, and the WiFi is excellent. The staff is friendly and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable. Daily housekeeping keeps everything spotless. While parking can't be reserved in advance, there’s a public lot just two minutes away. The outdoor terrace is a cozy spot with a limited but delicious menu. I planned to stay just one night but ended up staying three because it's the perfect base for nature walks and exploring the city. I was also lucky to catch a soulful live music duo during my stay. Highly recommended!

We loved Brive as a destination, we stayed for 7 days,...

We loved Brive as a destination, we stayed for 7 days, arrived at Brive airport, had to get a taxi, no public transport, paid 70euro to get taxi from boulevard Jules Ferry to airport on a Sunday. Yikes... Would recommend renting a car overall .

Whilst it doesn't have outstanding features or architecture, it's a very pleasant town, clean compact town with large pedestrian only streets with a friendly feel. Good communication links, It's not neglected or unsightly and overall a nice place to spend a day or two.

Lots of really interesting architecture, lovely town centre...

Lots of really interesting architecture, lovely town centre with a medieval church, 5th century origin with 12th century rebuilding, an interesting mix of unique shops as well as the usual main brands. A good mixture of restaurants, pubs and bistros, all price ranges and tastes. Excellent for walking around, all flat and level pavements. Plus, a good base for not too far away, fairly close excursions to Beaux villages and historical sites. Very well situated.

We had an enforced stop because our car broke down.

We had an enforced stop because our car broke down. We ended up in the town for 10 days, staying first in a hotel and then an apartment in the city centre. We walked everywhere and saw all the sights offered at this time of the year. A weekend stay is not recommended as many restaurants and shops and places of interest are shut on Sunday and Monday. It is a lovely medieval town full of shops, restaurants and cafes. I recommend the Kitty cafe is you like cats. There are several chocolate shops and one chocolate factory. The museum Labenche is very good and the Mortlake Tapestries are exceptional. If you have a car there are a lot of places to visit nearby. In fine weather lots of walks near the city.

A great little city with lots to do and see.

A great little city with lots to do and see. We took a guided tour of the Denoix distillery which was excellent. A visit to the open market for duck and local produce is recommended. And dinner or lunch at the Gueuleton restaurant was just perfect if your a big meat lover!

The Chateau is in a residential area set on a hill out the lovely city of Brivé. It takes about 30 minutes to walk into the city down hill! Taxi back cost 20€. The manager greeted us and showed us to our room which was clean comfortable and modern, as is the interior of the hotel. We liked the fresh flowers in the corridors. Breakfast was great with lots of bits, eggs included and served at the table. Plenty of parking. Really enjoyed our night here.

Wonderful traditionally styled (externally) station hotel that has been updated to a modern style internally and provides a very comfortable stay supported by a very helpful and courteous staff. Delightful inner courtyard where meals served, or drinks taken. Very close to reasonably priced station parking. If you can manage the stairs, take them, as these provide the feel, and aromatic smell of the old wood and the tradtional lift. Excellent.

This is a typical hotel in the Ace hotel chain - clean, comfortable spacious rooms and large bed. Ace hotels are probably the best budget hotels in France. Good value for money, but no ‘frills ‘. Because the reception desk is available throughout 24 hours, there is no need to worry about a late arrival. Ace hotels are all dog-friendly. The buffet breakfast is basic - but inexpensive.

Super hotel. Great attentive staff. Amazing breakfast and a fabulous place ‘Brive’ to visit. (Actually on route to Bordeaux from the Alps- but had we have known would have stayed longer!)
