The accommodation surpassed expectations. The photos and description did not do it justice. The description of the amenities did not list the fact that it had everything needed. Fridge freezer, oven, ceramic hob, microwave, coffee maker, pots, pans & crockery etc, separate utility room with washer & dryer. The enormous kitchen had plenty of workspace and a large table/chairs. THEN there was a large living room area with plenty of seating (and another table and chairs) with TV. Bedrooms were enormous with plenty of storage. Two had en-suite and two shared a bathroom which was just outside their doors. There was also a separate wc downstairs. There are kiddie stairgates at the top and bottom of the stairs for those that need to know this. I would have when mine were little. Lots of outside dining/seating available. A large pool and a large grassed area for any kids to run around. Also a large indoor 'games room' next door for those with more energy than me. I have never understood the recycling requirements of the French, but there were bins on site. We couldn't find a specific plastic/metal recycling spot, but there is a glass recycling receptacle by the church. The whole atmosphere is quiet & relaxing. The host is available at any time, and if required, meals can be arranged with the host. What more can you want? The only down side is that you will need a car if you want to get about/visit Castelnau-e-Medoc's facilities. There were a number of us in the area due to a family wedding and found that the taxis were unhelpful and unreliable - which is NOT the fault of the accommodation.
