This gite is situated opposite the main house in a gorgeous gated courtyard, all set in a pretty little hamlet three miles outside Sauze Vaussais. This makes it an excellent place for exploring this corner of France, where Charente, Deux Sevres and Vienne departments meet. Or it is just 10 minutes drive from the N10 dual carriageway between Poitiers and Angouleme, making a convenient spot about 7 hours from Calais for travellers heading on to or returning from further south and west towards Bordeaux, the Pyrenees and Spain. The two bedroom gite has a very generous living / kitchen / dining area downstairs (including I think a sofa bed, as well as satellite TV and wifi), and two ample double bedrooms upstairs shairing a large shower room. Upstairs is completed with a shared landing / dressing area. The whole gite features plenty of wooden fittings and features, beautifully crafted by the hosts themselves. The kitchen is well supplied with crockery, cutlery, glasses and cooking gear. There is a large fridge so no need to scrimp on your shopping. The hosts are really friendly and helpful. There was a generous welcome basket on our first night, so the basics were covered. They know the area very well and can point you at all the nearby places to visit, restaurants and shops. Their two cats may come around and make you feel welcome too!
