This is just a fabulous b and b. The host went above and beyond expectations and is super friendly. Very comfortable facilities and the breakfast was excellent with a very good choice. We would not hesitate to book again if the need arose and if I could give a higher score than 10 then I would.

The hotel was beuatiful and located perfectly to be near restaurants and bars (one nearby even had free live music my first night!) while still being quiet. I absolutely loved the elegance of the hotel, the decor was amazing, bed was comfortable and cosy, my room had a lot of natural light, wonderful water pressure in the shower.

I had a great stay, comfy bed, nice and quiet at night and ultimately a brilliant sleep. Check in service was all super simple and great location sat nice and centrally in Hitchin. The staff are all great, very professional and friendly, I felt like I was welcome and it made the stay perfect. Would stay again!

I am a wildlife and nature photographer who visits the Stevenage, Baldock and Letchworth area from Wales several times a year ... I always stay at Days Inn at Baldock services as my base whilst I travel around the area, also when I go to Norfolk as it's a good base on my route going to Norfolk and on the way home, I like to stick to my usual route and everything I need is to hand within the hotel and services.

Perfect for one night enroute stop or local overnight(s). I did not use local restaurant/service station facilities - so cannot comment. Parking charged separately - must register car with reception. Breakfast boxes are available if required (sustenance)

Stayed for one night.

Stayed for one night. The hotel is at the side of the A1 southbound but if you are going northbound there is an exit just up the road to go south. The hotel is far enough away from the road so you don't get too much road noise. The rooms are roomy and comfortable.

I was attending an event at Shuttleworth and needed somewhere to stay overnight. Although The White House was ten miles away it was definitely worth the drive. The house was lovely in the middle of the countryside x so peaceful. The host couldn’t do enough for us made us so welcome. The bed was super comfortable x the facilities lovely x clean. The breakfast was fantastic everything you could want x more.

We had a lovely room although there was evidence of dogs...

We had a lovely room although there was evidence of dogs having stayed in the room. Perhaps Redwings should restrict animals to a limited number of rooms. The receptionist on arrival was fantastic. Friendly, cheerful and very helpful. There is a fabulous restaurant a few steps away with very good quality homecooked meals. The room was as expected. Clean, tidy and welcoming.

Utilising the train will be to your advantage, especially if...

Utilising the train will be to your advantage, especially if you don't drive/can't drive on your trip. There are no meals available, so it could get expensive, but; you do have access to a kitchen area for cooking. Taxis are basically non-existent in the town, so book in advance. Even Uber don't want to travel here for collection. Royston is less than 10 mins on the train, as is Baldock.

A lovely country house in a beautiful setting just a couple of miles from Ashwell ( a very easy drive and was handy as we were visiting friends there). The room was excellent - cosy, clean, spacious and well equipped with a very nice en suite. Cindy and Richard were very welcoming and the breakfast was enormous and delicious! Far nicer than staying in a featureless hotel!

Just across from the train station.a simple hotel very good for the price . No restaurant or bar open but I knew that before booking. Plenty of parking too. The member of staff I dealt with was excellent. If if need somewhere in the area just to stay a night or two and you are aware that the restaurant and bar is not always open. Then if does the job well.

The staff were lovely and the location was very convenient for me. Bed, towels, shower and sink were clean. Good parking. Wifi is via BT website, rather than the property itself, but it worked fine. Surprised to find a hairdryer. Kettle, tea and coffee also appreciated. Right next to the services so easy to buy food and drink.
