Great location and all the staff were exceptional! We loved having the tub in our room to have a soak after biking all day. Loved having the robes in the closet that were available for us. Bed, linens and room were very comfortable. The breakfast was great, and the staff were able to accommodate my dietary needs.

FAQs about hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

Loved the cobbelstone streets and the small clusters of restaurants all around. The sound of bagpipes in the background was really lovely, which added to the charm of this lovely city. We found a lovely restaurant and could watch turists go by. There are lots of buses and trams which are easy to use. We took a couple of buses to see the Kelpies in Galloway, and then you can take a lovely walk to the Falkirk wheel. Easy from the airport to the center of edinburgh either bus or tram.

Walking the Water of Leith path was great.

Walking the Water of Leith path was great. Leith itself well worth a visit. Stockbridge ditto. We have been to Edinburgh several times before so decided to keep away from the crowds around the castle and the Royal Mile for most of the time. Craigmillar Castle was a bus ride away and we spent a lovely time there. Recommend the free guided tour. Some great live music bars in the city. Our favourites are the Captain's Bar on College Street and the Royal Oak, Infirmary Street. Both focus on live and traditional performances.

Lots to do, a clean safe and friendly city. Have visited before and will visit again. Worst thing parking and the price of it!!! If you can come by public transport then do, if you can't find a place that offers parking or be prepared to pay through the nose.

Hated the 20mph speed limit.

Hated the 20mph speed limit. Road surfaces almost everywhere need upgrading. Accommodation tax needs to be removed. Tourist bits were busy and often expensive. Princes Street a shadow of it's former self. Please get rid of the lone pipers. How about cleaning the stonework of the Scott Monument!

Edinburgh and history of Scotland is fascinating- especially...

Edinburgh and history of Scotland is fascinating- especially if you have Scottish heritage. Edinburgh is very friendly to tourists. There are visitors from all over the world, so you hear more world languages than Scottish when you are there. It can be crowded at times. For getting around, download the bus app- the bus map makes no sense. Do not buy train tickets online; it just causes problems. Its easy to buy tickets at the kiosk at the train station. You don't need a lot of Scottish pounds in your pocket. Most vendors want tap credit cards. Tipping is less than the US although I got the sense that vendors are trying to move towards more tipping. If you take a tour, the tour guides (bus drivers) appreciate a tip.

Good variety of foods for breakfast - though the breakfast area is small. Very friendly staff, reception, cleaning and kitchen.
