Very nice studio with small kitchenette and dining area for our small family of 3, with bunk beds. Excellent location not too far from the ski station. Very easy and smooth check in and check out process. Friendly staff as well.

Clean, comfortable, great location

The owners of Hotel du Lion d'Or were fantastic! Very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Our room was very nice, spacious, clean. We slept great in the nice comfy bed and enjoyed having the refrigerator and coffee maker in the room! Breakfast was amazing with delicious pastries, fresh meats and cheeses, fresh squeezed juice and homemade jams! They also serve dinner in the dinning room which we dined in one night. It was a 4 course meal of soup, salad, entrée(it was duck) and dessert. All were made by the owner and exceeded our expectations. Be sure to make a reservation for the dinner. We were lucky to hit a night that they were not booked, another night we tried but could not as all the tables had already been reserved! Darn! The town is lovely and very convenient for walking to the many shops and restaurants. We drove our car and were able to find parking just around the back side of the hotel. We hiked in the Pyrenees National Park and in a few other areas. The town of Cauterets is a great location for hiking in the area and the Hotel du Lion d"Or is a great place to stay, 4 stars!!

The hosts were really great. Sophie gave us great advice for hikes in the area and Reggie provided all of our meals which were really satisfying and tasty. An overall fabulous experience. I highly recommend this hotel.

Breakfast featured everything a cyclist needs for a days riding in the Pyrenees. The breakfast was served on time with fresh bread recently backed at the local bakery. Staff and owners were fantastic.

My husband and son stayed at this property. The location is great. It is centrally located and is across the street from a good pizza place. There is ample parking nearby. The building is secure and clean. A continental breakfast is offered at a related hotel just down the street from the property.
