The room was small but very quiet at night especially. The beds comfortable and the location pretty good for us to get about and see the town. The outdoor area had amazing views of the surroundings hills and was very close to lots of shops and restaurants.

The whole apt. Was fresh, attractive and bright with nice artwork throughout.

Ate at Restaurant Le Parc, which was opposite where we stayed, and the meal was pretty good. Lourdes was easy to walk around for our self-organised pilgrimage. The bus costs a fraction of the price of a taxi, and is a clean and efficient way to get to and from the airport. To take the baths, one needs to be in a queue for several hours before it opens, and there is no entry to the baths on an afternoon unless it is with a pre-organised tour. Unfortunately, there was human faeces in the bus shelter at the station. Whilst this was disgusting, it didn’t spoil our overall experience of Lourdes which was very positive.

Albi is a nice stop if you find yourself in the southern...

Albi is a nice stop if you find yourself in the southern part of France or are driving through. We took a train from Barcelona to Perpignan, France then picked up a car intending to make our way first through the Lot River Valley then to Sarlat de Caneda in the Dordogne region. The drive through the Lot River Valley to Albi is gorgeous and you can stop in Carcassonne and see the medieval castle on the way. In Albi the cathedral is a UNESCO site worth visiting as is the Toulouse Lautrec museum. There is a lovely market in the center of town, beautiful walks and nice restaurants. Well worth a stop.

The hotel was a reasonable walk from the city but with wonderful views across the gorge. The city has two lifts so if you have problems with walking longer distances or climbing steep stairs it is possible to take the lifts and still be able to see everything. Glorious buildings clinging to the cliffs. A very French mediaeval town. Definitely worth the visit.

Lovely town set in stunning countryside.

Lovely town set in stunning countryside. The riverside location is very attractive, there are lots of restaurants and great walks and cycles in the countryside. We’ve stayed at pleasant hotels and campsite in the town. Nearby are the Chaos de Montpellier le Vieux and the Gorge de la Dourbie, both worth a visit, not to mention the Millau Viaduct, with its small museum and viewing point. Good for a few nights stopover to break a long journey.

Lovely town, however we were there on a Monday and not many places were open. The park which we wanted to visit was closed due to it being set up for a festival later in the month. We felt welcome. Most restaurants have English speaking waiters and menus in English. I would like to go back another time.

A beautiful town in the Pyrenees.

A beautiful town in the Pyrenees. I only stopped for 1 night on my way to Col du Tourmalet but it was a lovely place and I'd be keen to return for a slightly longer stay. Set in the mountains with fantastic views all around.

Don't choose Cauterets for a ski holiday during kids school holidays! We had hours of waiting to get up the cable car, the single route to the mountains. They do not have the infrastructure here to handle the number of people. No clear slopes, no room to ski, no space to sit & eat. Choose another resort!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was disappointing and too expensive for what it was. Good place to stay if you have an early morning flight out of Toulouse.

This town is a gem - the real France and away from the...

This town is a gem - the real France and away from the tourist beat. Its cathedral is unique and exceptionally old. A little French is a help here. Very good and inexpensive restaurants. Take the Little tour train for a great orientation.
