Erick and Betty operate a one-suite B&B in their beautiful, historic house. The suite is spacious, filled with beautiful furnishings, as is the rest of the house. The couple are charming hosts--it helps if you can speak some French. They helped us visit the town and prepared a delicious dinner and breakfast. The house is a beauty amid a medieval village deep in the countryside. The area is lovely to explore. It's far off the beaten track and well worth getting there.

It was a SUPERB stay!! Unfortunately we could only stay one night. But the family who owns it (we only met the son and the father, and am embarrassed to say I cannot for the life of me recall their names...apologies) couldn't have been more wonderful!! They went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. We arrived quite late (which they had pre-approved ,check in closed at 7:00 p.m.), and we were starving. The son did his best to call several local restaurants to try to secure a reservation, but they were either full or had already stopped serving. His solution after speaking with his family was to pull together a ploughmans type meal of cheese, ham, an insanely delicious baguette, fresh fruit, nuts, a few bottles of water and a bottle of wine...from their OWN kitchen!! Just so we wouldn't go hungry. What an amazing thing to do!! Certainly unusual circumstances. We, of course, paid for the wine and they charged us a minimal fee for the meal which I argued was not enough, but they were adamant it was fine. They set it up in a little private kitchenette in another room in the castle. We felt like we were eating like they would have done in the Middle Ages! In some ways it was even better than eating at a restaurant. We just couldn't have thanked them enough.!! In the morning the breakfast was OUTSTANDING with fresh made yogurt, fresh apple juice made from their orchard, the croissants were as big as our heads and delectable. Beautiful settings on the table. Oh my...what luxury. The son even gave my husband and I a personal tour of the estate and some of the other stunning rooms. The father patiently guided us with a map and suggestions regarding our planned route to our next destination. Even highlighting it on a map. Wonderful!! It was so sad to leave, but we told every single person we met along the way before our journey ended about the jewel of a place and the incredible family who own it.
