We were welcomed by our hostess Florence with a breezy beautiful smile. As we have no French and Florence had no English, we bonded over strawberry aperitifs and Google translate. The accommodations were fabulous, a newly renovated premise with everything that you need. Beds were very comfortable and Florence booked us a restaurant in nearby Montreuil-sur-Mer, making sure that my gluten intolerance was accommodated. This made things very easy. Breakfast was all that you could wish for. Highly recommend

The owners are very friendly and good service (equipped kitchen, tea bags and coffee powder). There is a game room with pool table. We met other visitors and had a lot fun during our stay.

Doudeauville is a quaint and quiet village in rural France.

Doudeauville is a quaint and quiet village in rural France. There are no restaurants in the village, but Samer, Desvres and Montreuil are a short drive away and have ample and varied food outlets. However, beware that many are closed in the early part of the week.

The Chateau is wonderful with period features and modern art tastefully done by Catherine the owner. We have stayed twice in the chateau, this time we opted for a gite. It was EXCEPTIONAL! The pool was heated and the indoor hot tub was wonderful. There were wonderful places foe evening meals that were recommended to us, all have been charming, with fantastic food and great value.

The chateau is absolutely stunning and quiet and close to a neighbouring farm. The area is very rural and you need a car to drive to dinner. The most traffic you see are tractors. The large supermarket is only 10 minutes away for picnic food and drink and Le Touquet half an hour. Do try L’Ocean in Hardelot, excellent fruit de mer. A stunning venue with friendly, welcoming owners. Couldn’t have been better.

A beautifully presented and decorated 18th century château set in its Park just off the main road. The room had its own ensuite bathroom and separate toilet and looked out on the park. Our host could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was absolutely super and consisted of a variety of breads, jams, fruit, meat, cheese and pastries.
