L'Isle sur la Sorgue is a beautiful town, the clear, clean...

L'Isle sur la Sorgue is a beautiful town, the clear, clean canals and water wheels give so much character and charm. Staying close to the old centre allows those early morning hours to explore and photos without unknown people in them :) If you like kayaking there's a place in L'Isle that drive you upriver for a lovely paddle back with the guide, through nature, it was one of my favourite things I did on my visit there :)

A lovely, sweet town and the location in the historic centre...

A lovely, sweet town and the location in the historic centre is ideal with everything you need close at hand. We used the apartment as a base for visiting the Avignon Festival, exploring the Luberon nearby, dipping our feet in the Sorgue and taking in the market and town boat race. It was hot and the best place we found for a swim was the Étang de la Bonde although the Le Partage des Eaux close by was a fun place to cool off. Parking can get tricky as is the way with old historic centres.

Beautiful town with rivers, great restaurants and shops , so much to do like canoeing , and well located to visit Provence (Gordes, Avignon, Carpentras, Luberon, Roussillon, Fontaine Du Vaucluse, Arles, Aix En Provence…)

One of the Best Bases for Exploring Provence L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is a beautiful and charming town that perfectly captures the spirit of Provence. The canals that run through the town create a unique atmosphere, and wandering along the water is a pleasure at any time of day. The town offers excellent restaurants, lively cafés, attractive shops, and a relaxed yet sophisticated ambiance. At the same time, it is an ideal base for exploring the region by car. Many of Provence's most beautiful villages, vineyards, and natural attractions are within easy driving distance, making it a convenient and enjoyable place to stay. After visiting several locations throughout Provence, I believe L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is one of the very best places to base yourself. It combines beauty, authenticity, and a strategic location, making it an excellent choice for both first-time visitors and those returning to the region.

L'isle is a lovely little town that can become very busy on...

L'isle is a lovely little town that can become very busy on market days but returns to normal in between! We actually got to know a few locals in just 2 weeks and felt like we had immersed ourselves in life there. We were here the last 2 weeks in April which was not too busy and not too hot and seemed like the perfect time of year to visit.

I love L’isle sur la Sorgue, but disappointed that they’ve turned the local parking lot into paid parking. Charming, with the Sorgue and antique water wheels. Everyone is so very friendly and helpful.
