Our trip to Punta Lara had mixed results, but overall, it was a big disappointment. The physical property and amenities like the pool, lobby & room were pleasant. Unfortunately, we found the service at the front desk & restaurant to be lacking and not worthy of the four-star rating/hospitality. While we understand hospitality teams can get busy, the interaction lacked the warmth you expect at these rates. Our booking was for a sound proof room with a queen bed, either of which we had. We checked out early due to the fact that our room was not sound proof - we were absolutely sleep deprived between the noise from next door & the construction every night & early morning. It's a service that was under-delivered, and the everyday consumer rules treat it as one. We shared the details of the rest of our experience in emails to the Directeur of the Punt Lara. He acknowledged the fact that we did not receive a sound-proof room. His response “I therefore kindly ask for a little time to complete this review before providing you with a final response.” I also filed a complaint with Booking. A few weeks later I followed up with Booking and wrote another email the hotel Directeur, the Hotel Directeur never responded back to either Booking or us. Our overall impression was that the hotel had no real interest in prioritizing their guest’s experience and being “ghosted” by the hotel’s management confirmed just that.

Quiet beaches compared with beaches nearer Noirmoutier, but more rocky and not to be explored without appropriate footwear. Great pizza restaurant/ take away in L'Epine. Few shops in the area or restaurants open for lunch / drinks and cycling is probably the main activity. The cycle paths are generally good, but there are some areas where navigation is difficult and you can't cycle on sandy paths. Take water with you - don't expect to find beach kiosks selling drinks on this part of the island.

Total peace and natural beauty.
Total peace and natural beauty. It’s a small village alongside endless beaches —- an escape into a much simpler world.
A French way of life that reminded us of the way life used to be! (mid September and a lovely sunny 21 degrees most days). Sea and swimming pool every day.

We loved the outdoor pool . Quiet , clean and accessible .
Good breakfast.
Close to nice restaurant thankfully . The hotel restaurant was fully booked & we were disappointed not to be able to have our meal there.
Enjoyed having ground floor rooms close to each other. Suitable for
disabled access.

Lovely hotel with a great restaurant! Really lovely outdoor pool with lots of loungers, umbrellas etc. super room, cool with a private patio with table and chairs. Good in restaurant was very reasonably priced and was delicious!!!
