United StatesSuper quiet, family-owned hotel with exceptionally welcoming staff! In my 20 years of traveling, this was probably my best night of sleep in a hotel room. Breakfast is made to order, and there’s also a buffet with fresh bread and pastries from a local bakery. Finally, it’s literally next to the beach, just a 5-minute walk, which makes it the best spot for a relaxing, peaceful vacation.

We loved being surrounded by local French people on their holidays. The one place we visited where we did not hear an English accent in the whole time we were there. Everything was within walking distance unless you wanted to go to a nearby beach in which case the Petite Train is perfect. Loved Le Lavandou,

A friendly medium sized coastal resort with lots on offer, less well known than its neighbours. Great beaches and coastal walks in both directions from the main beach. Plenty on offer for any visitor - cuisine, shopping, watersports, boats, winetasting, exploring the hills behind the town. A nice mix of visitors and locals.

This may be the "family spot" of the Cote d"Azur.
This may be the "family spot" of the Cote d"Azur. There were lots of families with children, ranging from infants to teens. Plenty of couples as well, ranging from twenty-somethings to octogenarians. Lots of stores, restaurants, and scenery all with a very classy feel. The beach is the main attraction, and the water is clear, and cool. The nearly constant breeze and cool water provide relief from the fairly intense sun.

Le Lavandou itself has a fantastic atmosphere, with dozens of restaurants to choose from and a vibrant nightlife that added a special touch to our ten-day vacation. In the final days of our stay, the town organized two live concerts on the main beach near the port. The first concert featured the Italian singer Zucchero, and the second showcased Alberto Tuzzi, both of which were incredible and added an extra layer of enjoyment to our trip.

Lavandou is a small village in the Côte d'Azur in France, it is small but very nice. There are variety of restaurants and you can find some fast foods and brasserie offering sandwiches. As the village is small, it is really easy to walk around and do everything by walking. The centre of the village is obviously the most entertaining place. Also the best beach is in the centre of the village, where you can take chairs and beach umbrellas for free if available when you'll arrive at the beach.

We didn't have a car so wanted somewhere lively enough to hold us for a week. We didn't know Le Lavandou but were very pleased with our choice. It has a lovely central beach with good facilities and an even better beach at St Claire was just a fifteen minute walk away. Le Lavandou has an excellent range of very good restaurants and cafes. The prices are very reasonable. We particularly liked the outstanding La Petite Cantine. We will certainly go back.
Two things to bear in mind - public transport is very poor so without a car it would be difficult to go outside Le Lavandou. Like most of the Riviera it could be pretty hellish during July and August - everywhere crowded and congested. We went in June which was lovely and the locals said it's even better in September.

We stayed four nights at the Hotel Baptistin. We booked it only one day in advance and had a spacious room facing the garden. Of course, we would have preferred to have a sea-view room, but the garden terrace was so individually decorated that we felt very comfortable. The personnel were very friendly, and the room was spacious and tidy. We also appreciated the location, with walking distance to the beautiful St. Claire beach and the amenities in Le Lavandou.

Location is perfect, right in front of the beach and not far from the city of le Lavandou. There are plenty of restaurants around and also a walkway. The premises are also nicely decorated and even had an electrical charger for the car.

The proximity to the beach of Le Lavandou is logically a plus if this is what you are looking for. Parking is a plus although there is not enough parking slots for all guests so it is a "first come, first served" policy.
