I chose this property as I planned to visit (and did visit) the Natzweiller-Struthof Nazi concentration camp near by, the only one on French soil, although Alsace was illegally annexed by Germany after the fall of France. The owners, three couples I’m told, purchased the place and took it over on June 1. The people are met were very nice and helpful. So the location for me was primary. I was also appreciative that they did my very small laundry. It was fairly pricey, but that’s the situation in hotels also. It saved me a lot of hand washing so I was pleased.

La Vieille Eglise is located in Le Hohwald, just 28 miles from Colmar Expo and 30 miles from House of the Heads.

Everything from the friendly greeting we received at check-in, to dinner reservations being made for us, the comfortable rooms, very clean facilities, and delicious breakfast.
