What a surprise, with our ”garden view” room, to be overlooking such a gorgeous, totally-hidden-from-the-street, back bar and garden. The room was great, well put together, open to air, and we especially appreciated two chairs and lower light lamps. We opted for the petit dejunier (baguette, croissant, fruit spreads, butter), which was fine. But the 6€ each for the breakfast was well worth with the price simply for the coffee! Henry(?) was hand pulling shot after shot of espresso to fill each table’s pot of coffee. Maybe the best morning brew we’ve had on our bike tour. Oh, and the fact that Henry / the hotel offered a locked, covered garage for our bikes—just awesome!

The place was located perfectly. Restaurants were just around the corner and a bakery 50 meters away. It is easy walking distance from the old town. The hosts provided extras like a big bar of soap, many kinds of showering choices, and welcoming berverages way beyond what is expected. For example, a litrer of milk in the refrigerator. When the weather was hot, one could open up the windows and get a cool breeze tyo make it bearable. The apartment was also very private even though located right across from the Marie. Parking right across the street.

We were at the end of a 12 hour day and Google Maps was letting us down and we had no cell service and we somehow managed to get a hold of the owners and amazingly they drove down and found us in the town and let us back to their beautiful bed-and-breakfast and we had a restful night and a fantastic French breakfast under the skies the next morning can’t say enough about them a lovely couple and a great day

This was a second visit to Puy-l’Évêque And there will be...

This was a second visit to Puy-l’Évêque And there will be more as the location of the town is so perfect. Intriguing side streets that you never really feel you’ve got the measure of and each street seems to end with a surprise as a consequence. The only downside is the number of shops that look as if they’ve been empty for a very long time and may never be occupied again. It’s a shame as I can’t imagine that the town isn’t incredibly busy in the summer months and I wonder why they aren’t doing really well!

The view from the room was really something special; from right across to the horizon and up and down the Lot. We watched a tremendous sunset. The room itself is pleasant enough! But you spend most of your time looking outside as opposed to around at the slightly basic interior. The dinner was very good indeed as was the breakfast. Genial host who is clearly a great character! The hotel is situated handily for both the low and high parts of this beautiful town and seems very convenient as a consequence.

Good restaurant for enjoying a lovely menu of the day on the garden terrace. The hotel restaurant is open all day and evening, so it is easy to obtain food and drink when most other venues are closed. Well located close to the centre for sightseeing. The hotel has a designated car park but plenty of free parking directly opposite. All round good value option for enjoying what this pretty town has to offer.

Great hotel that we always use if taking this route through France. Staff very friendly, good food and drink. Rooms comfortable. You'll love the garden to sit and have a drink or a meal.
