The main selling point of this hotel is its location set right on the edge of the lake. We booked a double room with balcony overlooking the lake and were afforded stunning views. The weather during our visit was poor and so we were unable to do as much walking as we had planned, but the whole area is beautiful and well worth exploring if you get the opportunity. Due to the weather we decided to eat in the hotel that evening and to be honest we were glad that we did as the food was delicious and the service excellent. It was a set 3 course menu with a couple of options per course and we really enjoyed it. Breakfast was the same with plenty of choice available and excellent views over the lake from the dining room

The kitchen is well-appointed and the adjoining courtyard allows enjoyable access to the outdoors. Great location, of course, and the slightly eccentric decor makes for a kind of “Night at the Museum” experience, in a good way. Recommended.
