The hotel was also the local pub, bakery and cafe (although they were closed when we arrived) The owner was welcoming and allowed us to use his garage for our motorbike. The breakfast was continental style and plentiful. The hotel was a short distance from the river with some lovely walks.

Vireux-Wallerand was a beautiful town situated on a gorgeous...

Vireux-Wallerand was a beautiful town situated on a gorgeous river where there are plenty of walks available. It is a great base to travel all around the Ardennes region be it France or Belgium. Givet is just up the road where Fort de Charlemont is situated and well worth a visit.

Lovely little village on the river. Very peaceful.

Lovely little village on the river. Very peaceful. Friendly locals. Had a great experience at C'Taky bowling bar, karaoke night was fab! The local Friterie du rivage was great for a kebab! Lovely walk to the Camp Romain, fantastic views. An equally lovely walk to Hierges (or you can drive), very picturesque medieval village. Loads to do nearby, Terrealtitude was great for the teens! Spent a whole day there, was brilliant. Grottes de Neptune also great. Dinant in Belgium. Day trip to Luxembourg. Excellent swimming pool with slides in Givet.
