The host were extremely personable and gracious. They spent time with us and made it a genuine Corsican experience. Vincent makes his own Myrtle liquor! Food was awesome!… get dinner here! Beautiful building and rooms with rustic decor

A great place to stay in the mountains, Parking right outside, Wifi and a/c worked well. Lots of walks to be taken. Restaurant with good choice right there and good breakfast. All this for a very reasonable price.

This was a really nice alternative place to stay. The hosts were very friendly. They have built the house and the love of the build shows. The room was very comfortable and very well decorated and very peaceful. There were quite a few areas to just hang out in and there was a lot of local guide reading material.

We absolutely loved the casual way this place was set up. Great views out over the surrounding mountains, superb rooms and excellent central facilities with really comfortable chairs dotted around a relatively small but decent pool. We enjoyed breakfasts set up in a lounge area and we were able to meet other guests in a a very relaxed manner. We were looked after so well by a lovely girl who didn't speak a lot of English but it did not matter at all as she made us all feel very comfortable and welcome. They also had a great honesty bar system which we took full advantage of when we hung around the pool for virtually a whole day.

Old-style country hotel, super clean and comfortable. Great location for hiking in the area. Owner is really nice and provides a very generous (more than I could ever eat) breakfast. There is an excellent local restaurant about 10 minutes walk from the property (Funatello) I highly recommend; ate there 3 consecutive nights.

Vizzavona is the perfect spot as a base for day hikers, and the ideal stop for through hikers taking a luxury (compared to camping) break. But if you’re not there for Corsica’s great outdoors, then it’s not for you. It’s all about the hiking.

Big room with stunning view of the mountains. Delicious food. This station hotel is modern and comfortable but equally it felt like stepping back in time with polished wooden floors and lots of original features. It was lovely to watch the trains go through. It is on the backpacker route which gave it an informal comfy atmosphere. Great location for walking. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. Our two night stay up in the mountains felt like a special experience.

Clean and charming hotel, quietly located in the small town of Vizzavona. Great as a stay when hiking the GR20 or wanting to experience the Corsican mountains, needing a good base. Staff was very friendly. The hotel offers a great and authentic stay.

If doing the GR20, there is a path you can take (hotel has that info) which brings you onto the GR20, without having to go back to Vivavona.
