I had a wonderful stay at the Dakota hotel in Glasgow. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and clean, and the restaurant was excellent. Everything was very well organized, including the early morning transfer to the airport. I would definitely stay here again.

The Maldron Hotell meets my concept of a modern 4 stars hotel. The room was big enough to be able to keep you luggage without blocking your movements. The bathroom had a modern shower with hot water immediately available. The strongbox was easy to use. There were enough electric plugs to charge my devices and it was possible to turn off all the lights from the buttons next to the bed. The bed itself was incredibly comfortable and it was a pleasure sleeping in it. My room was on a secondary road, so I didn't have all the traffic under it (even if it was just a few meters aways), but it was silent and I could sleep properly all night.

FAQs about hotels in Glasgow

Fun-Loving and Forward Thinking

Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow combines Victorian architecture and a vibrant arts scene. A former European City of Culture, it is home to many national organisations including the Scottish Ballet and the National Theatre of Scotland. The museums are also world class. Not to be missed are the futuristic-looking Glasgow Science Centre and the eclectic exhibits at the Kelvingrove.

Lined with Georgian buildings, George Square is the city’s focal point and the spot for Glasgow Hogmanay celebrations. Fanning out from here are streets housing venues for the city’s main love: music. From classical concerts to up-and-coming bands, every taste is catered for.

As host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow is also a city of sport. Scotland’s 2 most iconic football clubs - Celtic and Rangers - are based here, as is the national football stadium Hampden Park. The Scottish Football Museum is also an excellent walk through the beautiful game.

Last but not least is the shopping in Glasgow. Shopping centres cover everything from high street brands to international designers. So when you fly into Glasgow Airport, make sure you’ve left enough space in your bags!

My friend and I did the West Highland Way hike. We hiked from Glasgow and enjoyed the transition from an urban landscape to the rural landscape. We unfortunately did not spend a great deal of time in the city, but will consider another trip just to get the full Glasgow experience.

We attended Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games but also enjoyed the centre of Glasgow and its nice bars and restaurants. My wife loved the shops there also. There were walking tours and bus tours going on but we did not have time on this occasion but wil try on our next visit.

I'ts easy to say that Glasgow pales in comparison to other places in Scotland, but it is a good place to visit in its own right. I went with no expectations and had lovely walks through beautiful parks, had a nice time alongside the river and left wishing I would've stayed more. It's very well conected and always has many options for eating and drinking. It's a lively place I would definitely go back to.

I always enjoy coming to Glasgow.

I always enjoy coming to Glasgow. There are so many great places to visit, such as Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery, the Riverside Transport Museum and the Peoples Palace. If you want to shop there is plenty of choice for all price ranges. If you want a lively night out the city centre is vibrant with lots of restaurants and bars. However, if you aren't drinking there is still plenty on offer.

We only had half a day really in Glasgow, which we spent viewing various museum collections or architectural sites related to Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the Scottish architect, designer, and artist. I would have loved to stay longer in Glasgow.

The red tourist hop on / hop off bus was very good. The Kelvingrove and Transport museums were excellent. A few times when my wife and I stopped to consult our street map Scottish people came over to offer their help. This didn't surprise us as on previous visits to Scotland we have always found the Scots to be friendly and helpful.

Lovely Hotel right in Glasgow City Centre with restaurants and bars along the same road. Spacious room, and good tea coffee making facilities. Parking in Glasgow no problem as the NCP close by they will give you a ticket at reception when you check out, or check in, which you will use with the original ticket you obtain when entering the car park.. It's easy....Just find the car park which is the Glasshouse, G1 1UP, on entry get a ticket and pay on exit but use both car park tickets putting the original one in first....

First ever stay at this Marriott just off George Square. Very friendly welcome on arrival and I was delighted with the well-appointed room. It was spacious and comfortable. Coffee machine with pods was an unexpected bonus. Breakfast was served in a very stylish area - plenty of cold and hot options to choose from. Hotel is in the perfect location for exploring Glasgow city centre - great pubs and restaurants in close proximity to this hotel. Overall, a very pleasant stay!

Location was good for what we were in Glasgow for, Uber to the city centre was under £9.00. Hotel is pretty spacious, staff were great, friendly and very helpful, even got a glass of prosecco on the house as it was my birthday! Restaurant for breakfast was good, not too busy at the times we were there, decent selection of hot and cold foods, hot vegan options were available, if a bit limited.
