Lovely and clean nice breakfast every morning lovely staff had a nice stay

My room (20) in the attic had a fascinating view over the distant Thames Estuary, though most rooms wouldn't have this. The bed and room were clean and comfortable. The price was low - okay, the bannister knobs need a coat of paint, etc, but this did not make me wish I'd paid more to go elsewhere. It was quiet during the night (advantage of an attic room perhaps).

Very pleasant customer service. Its a little pricey, but over all great place. If your price is 30 dollars a night i will go back September for a week.

The room upgrade was a great surprise

I recently stayed at a Holiday Inn Southend and it was a sublime belter. From the moment I arrived, I was treated like a VIP— Very Impressed Punter. The room was BOOM TING. I checked under the bed fully expecting to find a forgotten sock from 1997, but no, nothing. The bed was so comfortable I briefly considered playing 'JUMP' by Van Halen to the max. The staff acted as if they genuinely enjoy their jobs. The location was perfect: altho watching all the planes taking off, without going on holiday, was like someone dangling a Big Mac in front of you and not letting you have a bite. Overall, a barn-stormer of a stay. Clean, comfy and corking. If you know what it's like to sit on the Eiger while listening to banging drum n bass, this is for you.

Whole place was very clean and obviously very new because you could still smell the paint when you walked through the front door Bedroom was small but comfortable and bathroom was spotless. The person who greeted me was very good
