The room was clean. The food was really good, all home made and inexpensive. The room was worth what we paid, comfortable, clean and a great location for walks. The breakfast was really lovely too. We will definitely be back.

Lewdown itself has very little to recommend it except for...

Lewdown itself has very little to recommend it except for the pub, which is outstanding. It is conveniently on the Two Castles Trail, and has easy access to the occasional bus, if you have a timetable (4 per day).

Everything was great, excellent breakfast, Dinner was a bit expensive but wonderful, using local grown vegetables and really recommend the Deserts! The entire hotel was very clean and gives a great vibe like you being a lord, especially while drinking a glass of good whisky at the fireplace! Overall, excellent place to stay and not very expensive; it should have at least 4 stars; for sure will come back to stay once I visit Cornwall again

Wonderful Jacobean country House many (all) original features very well restored beautyful grounds, exceptional staff, t. \beautiful decor in rooms, very warm every comfort. Extensive library - joy to be able to borrow books for stay. Food outstanding/ I would have pref. a few more veggie options, but fine bearing in mind the country hotel

Lovely place to stay lovely to sit out side. Staff were very nice and helpful. Both requests were met when we arrive at the Hotel. I requested a shower and a bright light room as I like to do cross stitch. The food was very nice. Lovely atmosphere. Bed an pillows where so comfortable, lovely. We will look forward to staying again.
