The room was beautiful and very comfortable. The bathroom was excellent and the room was very clean which was very much appreciated after the hotel we had stayed in the night before! It exceeded our expectations and we would happily recommend to others and stay again.

The location was perfect for my circumstances, the house was very clean, the hosts even included essentials e.g. Milk, butter, snacks etc, ready for my arrival which was amazing especially the time I arrived. Overall a great experience and I would definitely stay again.

This is a gem hidden in the countryside. We (wife, 2 kids) travelled for a friends wedding nearby. The cottage is a renovated and modernised barn, loads of character, spacious, lovely kitchen and clean. Although we never used it, there as also an outside courtyard with a table and chairs. The host made us feel very welcome, with detailed check in instructions, thoughtful snacks on arrival and the cottage left open for us. Highly recommended

I am looking to relocate and decided to spend some time in Market Rasen, it is on the edge of the Wolds and has good transport links, both car and train. My son went to school in Market Rasen, albeit a long time ago. It is very commutable. Sadly the town is very run down, it has no vibrancy at all. It needs some serious investment and a good tidy up and some serious painting. Like so many towns that are building far too many properties but having no infrastructure spoils it. Outer villages are lovely but if you are older and need to be nearer the town this defeats the object, just one GP and one Dentist is insufficient although you are in close proximity to Lincoln. Overall the town disappointed me and I have marked it off my list

Market Rasen is an interesting town with a small market on Tuesdays. Interesting bars but overall the town is a bit tired and in need of a bit of investment. The walking round the town is excellent and Willingham Woods exceptional. We used the stay to explore the northern Wolds area and it proved a good base with interesting and friendly local folk.

Market Rasen is the next town, 8 miles to the south and this was a disappointingly dull town to visit. Actually we were in nearby Caistor which is much more appealing to visitors. Caistor has Roman roots, a pretty Market Place with historic buildings, a good pub and 2 chip shops, and a largish supermarket. Local bus routes are hourly - good for visiting historic Lincoln and also Grimsby for its fishing heritage centre. Countryside around Caistor has many attractive villages and is good for walkers.

This is a nice little town with some interesting shops.

This is a nice little town with some interesting shops. We are interested in architecture and there were some unusual buildings. A big Tesco store and several convenience shops were in easy walking distance. There is a large public car park behind the hotel and free parking from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. All day parking is cheap, there is a bus service to Lincoln or a Park and Drive in Waitrose on the way into Lincoln. The Cathedral there is well worth a visit, especially the roof-top tour. RAF Coningsby houses the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and it was quite an experience to get up close to the historic aircraft, including the Spitfire and Lancaster. Further afield, the Romany Museum near Spalding was very informative and the climb up the 272-foot tower of Boston Stump was worth the effort for the view. A lovely short break, enjoyed by both of us.

The best of Lincolnshire is surely here.

The best of Lincolnshire is surely here. Undoubtedly classy and unashamedly proud. There is a sense of the medieval, but without the plagues or the ducking stools. Fayre play to the locals..my time is ended, but set to return!

We were in the area walking and stayed in Market Rasen as it was the nearest town. The surrounding area and villages (Tealby and Walesby to name two) are beautiful and there are some great walks nearby. The Wolds Edge farm shop and cafe is superb. The Aston Arms in Market Rasen is a proper old fashioned pub with proper home cooked food.
