We went to Alton Towers and this is the closest hotel to that other than the resort hotel, that’s why we chose it. Little did we know, we were in for a treat! It’s feels old and the Talbot next door is an amazing topping for the cake.

It’s a village where successful builders have remote, electric gates and number plates that spell out “a bodger’. Once you see beyond that, the other houses are beautiful, as is the church. It looks like the Community is vibrant and a lovely English village.

Good food, lovely staff, perfectly placed for where we wanted to go the day before and day after. We found the drink to be a little more pricey than we are used to however we can't fault the actual drink it was great. The room was lovely and very clean with great facilities.

The staff without exception were very friendly and efficient. The breakfast was good. It’s probably a little on the expensive side for a nice country pub. Please note if you need to travel ANYWHERE in a taxi or is very expensive because of where it is (£25 for 3.7 miles)
