The room was clean. The food was really good, all home made and inexpensive. The room was worth what we paid, comfortable, clean and a great location for walks. The breakfast was really lovely too. We will definitely be back.

I was visiting family in the area and having a dog it was a...

I was visiting family in the area and having a dog it was a great location . My time was spent in Tavistock and the surrounding area. Marytavy was a good base , if you enjoy the rural life , as I do. Morwellam quay and Lydford Gorge are well worth a visit. Lots of lovely walks on Dartmoor and in woods and beside rivers within the National Park. Tavistock is a great town with plenty history

Mary Tavy is a small peaceful village right on the edge of...

Mary Tavy is a small peaceful village right on the edge of Dartmoor. you can walk along to Peter Tavy and straight up to the Moor. It does have a pub and shop. The Tavy has places to sit or paddle. Lydford gorge national trust is closeby and beautiful. Tavistock or Okehampton are similar distances with a good variety of shops, pubs etc.

5 mins walk from Dartmoor National Park with break taking...

5 mins walk from Dartmoor National Park with break taking scenery. Felt like walking into a Sherlock Holmes novel with wide open moors, full farming activities and fast changing weather patterns. You can see how the Elephant's Nest Inn served the community in the past as there is nothing else nearby to refresh you from the day's activities.
