Passed this place a few times ,first visit was excellent staff friendly and welcoming room warm comfy everything needed was available and the breakfast was delicious

I stayed at this hotel last year and was very impressed and chose it again this year. It is an older building, however the rooms are modern, beautifuly decorated, and the bathrooms are all modern fixtures. I chose it for the proximity to the trainstation and the ability to walk a short distance—a couple of blocks, and be in the middle of the city. The rooms are large, stayed on 2 different nights between coach tours, so had 2 different rooms. Both rooms had a huge bed, very comfortable and a sofa. The room included a mini fridge, always appreciated when traveling. Plenty of storage and a fantastic bathroom. Staff was very pleasant at check in and out. Good value for the stay. A resturant is adjacent, however we did not use it. Getting into the city center was just a couple of blocks from the hotel and just yards from the train station.

Great rooms Great facilities

Everything was lovely. We love historic places with quiet assured by expansive grounds. The location was very good for our return to Heathrow in another day. We enjoyed the pool after a busy day. Breakfast had many offerings to start the next travel day. Spring was a perfect time to enjoy things in bloom and the weather was perfect.

The breakfast was great. Lots of choice from the standard pub menu and the option to go for a larger size or add on extras for the relevant charge. Massive cups of coffee get a thumbs up from us. For our family, this was a perfect set up of five rooms - all sharing a courtyard. All rooms - a and a great choice of room types - were well equipped (iron and board/coffee machine/kettle/hairdryer/radio/TV/WiFi) and en suite.

Room was very clean and facilities were perfect, partner even commented on how the rooms smelt so clean, have stayed previous and would stay again, the pub was also perfect very clean food was great and staff are all so polite and very smartly dressed. Location is perfect set away from the road no noise at night.

The scenic beauty where the hotel was located was heavenly. The indoor pool was exceptional with the spa facilities. Truly a hidden gem in Yorkshire

Nice room, nice staff, good location

So convenient for us when we visit our son, great value, quiet so we sleep well, clean comfy beds, lovely shower, TV, nice hand wash and shower gel so very handy you don't have to pack loads from home. Spare pillows . Excellent ! Staff on reception are so friendly and helpful and also the room cleaner/staff are great and so friendly . Free parking which is brilliant as previously stayed in Leeds city and it.is extortionate, being as we visit so often this helps alot

Very convenient for a stop off for our trip to the north east.
