Too good for the price. Easy check-in and check out, staff member (Bhatti) was helpful throughout and also helped with moving my box. I would definitely be booking again should there be a need and would recommend it to anyone going that way.

Beautifully converted spacious accommodation in a quiet location. Our main purpose for visiting Medway was to go to Chatham Historic Dockyard, so finding a historic ship to stay on was perfect.

Hosts were very friendly and helpful, felt like nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was very good - freshly cooked, and plenty of it. Room was clean and comfortable with fabulous views of the Medway. Walk into the city was about 20 minutes and mostly flat, but we could have parked closer for free. Multi-storey car park is 5 minutes from historic centre and only £3.50 for 5 hours.

The old part of town is picturesque with a well-preserved castle keep, a splendid cathedral and an attractive high street. We enjoyed the Huguenot and Guildhall museums and there are plenty of Dickens connections including his writing chalet. The cathedral is a lovely place to sing. We enjoyed pizzas at Amore and breakfasts in the Cheese Room.

We went to view the Castle and the Cathedral which were next to each other right by the river. Outside there were many pubs to eat and drink, the shopping centre was one street away with lots of different individual shops. The Castle was just a shell really but you could climb the stone staircases at the corners of it to near the top. The Cathedral was beautiful welll worth a visit and even better it was free. There is a lot of traffic around as it is next to the river and the bridge across to Strood and Chatham and the main A2/M2 to London or the other way to Dover.

A very interesting cathedral in terms of history and architecture. It's the second oldest in the country. We were able to arrange a guided tour. The castle has historical links with the cathedral. Even if you don't go in, you can explore quite a bit of the outside. The high street has lots of nice independent shops, cafes and restaurants, and there's a good selection of pubs. We went to The Cooper's Arms behind the cathedral for an evening meal, lunch and an evening drink, and The Crown by the bridges for an evening meal. Both pubs were very good in all aspects. There are a lot of historical buildings along the High Street, especially at the bottom end. There are plenty of Charles Dickens associated sites.

If you're interested in English history especially medieval period Rochester is an essential place to visit. Medieval castle and cathedral fascinating - there is a little museum in the cathedral too which is well worth a visit. Guildhall also not to be missed where Dickens connection is further explored. Your reading of Great Expectations will be enhanced by a tour of a prison hulk. High St is full of interesting shops and restaurants including a shop dedicated to fossils and dinosaurs! Ate at lovely Italian place on High St. Everything close by.

The secret maisonette is a delight. Cleanliness and attention to detail were outstanding. We loved all the design ideas which enable a small space to be so comfortable and pleasant to stay in. All we could need for our short stay (even a guitar) and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if we revisit Rochester anytime soon. . We congratulate the hosts on their good taste.
