Great location in the heart of Stamford. The room was very comfortable and well designed, with many thoughtful ideas. The bathroom was luxury with beautiful toiletries and good quality towels. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent breakfast with Al a Carte choices. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything we wanted was within walking distance and with a good selection of independent and chain shops. Unlike many town centres it didn't look at all run down. A good selection of pubs and restaurants.

Lovely historic town with plenty to see and do both in the town and surrounding area. Plenty of cafes restaurants and shops and an excellent market on a Friday and a smaller one on the Saturday. Rutland water is of course the main attraction and there’s plenty of great walks and views to be had (Look out for Ospreys at the lake and Peregrines in the town). Further afield the Rutland Nursery with its excellent cafe and plant nursery and Rutland vineyard with it's equally excellent wine and countryside walk are well worth visiting. As is Barnsdale gardens. Can get busy at times and parking can be fun but well worth visiting even if its only for the day. There's far to many restaurants and cafes to pick out but JKs Lounge for Tapas just off the main street is well worth visiting too.

really surprised at the amount of choice available for pubs, places to eat and shops - there is an awful lot of top quality stuff packed in to an area which is small enough to easily explore on foot in half a day. some old, characterful places which mirror the nature of the town, alongside some far more contemporary outlets, so all tastes are catered for - notably a singularly fine cheese shop which will leave the most earnest of turophiles positively gleeful just outside of town there is some glorious countryside - we saw stubble fields teeming with hares one evening which was a real treat; the riverside walks on a summer's night are gorgeous, and you're never too far from a bar for that bit of hedonistic excess when needed - great place - highly recommended for a few nights

Super and beautiful town with a vibrant cafe culture..lots of seating outside for al fresco dining and many different food choices. Lovely open spaces in the town too to have a picnic and feed the ducks. Stamfords close proximity to other places and activities such as Rutland Water, Go-Carting....Burleigh House for picnics and outdoor play area

An attractive town, easy to get around with more than ample parks, gardens and open spaces. We planned our visit to ensure we were there when the Friday town centre market takes place. Lots of shops, cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants to suit anybody's individual tastes. We would recommend The Mad Turk restaurant which was obviously very popular.

Always a pleasure to revisit the lovely town of Stamford and Nelson’s pork pies shop in the centre of town. Love walking around the streets with its beautiful 17th and 18th century architecture and stone buildings, older timber-framed buildings and medieval parish churches.
