Chios is so much more than its wonderful beaches and nature and people, carrying incredible history and lore all throughout the island. The Kambos area is no exception, with its beautiful stone architecture and wonderful citrus groves. Archontiko Riziko, only a short drive or taxi journey away from the airport or port, was a very soothing, comfortable place to relax and recover from the usual hustle and bustle of life. Breakfasts were plentiful and hearty, and it was so very nice to enjoy them in the spacious, peaceful patio outside next to the cooling fruit trees. The owner, who clearly and understandably takes great, well-earned pride in the property, was generous with his knowledge of the buildings and area, eagerly sharing insider tips, and taking proactive measures to care for his guests. Our room in the main building was very clean, comfortable, and based on our consistently sound sleeps every night, it's fair to say that the bed was equally so. There's something calming and grounding about the stone work throughout the property, and we very much appreciated the fact that the beautiful walls in our room were not plastered over. We lucked out with the weather during our stay - warm during the days but juuuuust right at night, with consistent, cool evening breezes, eliminating any need for air conditioning. Because of the thoughtfully installed window screens, we were gently woken up each morning by the bells of the neighboring church, warmly nudging us out of bed each morning. Parking was plentiful and convenient, but given the availability and ease of arranging taxis all throughout the island, don't hesitate to arrange your stay here even without a car.

Everything was awesome. Stratos and Angeliki are so helpfull and hospitable. Hotel has the most peaceful garden in the island that full of lemon and orange trees.

Kostas was an incredible host— and the property was absolutely breathtaking. Staying here really made our travels so much better. The area, and the property itself, have so much character. The citrus orchard was beautiful. Bombastic slay.

Surrounded by citrus orchards, you truly feel immersed in nature. The area is exceptionally peaceful and is famous for its historic Genoese mansions, enclosed by impressive stone walls 3–4 meters high. The only drawback is the very narrow streets, which can be challenging to navigate even with a small car. Kampos is also home to the Citrus Museum, where you can learn about the history of citrus cultivation and trade, as well as purchase citrus-based products and local souvenirs.

Kambos is a unique area.

Kambos is a unique area. It is a difficult area to walk the neighbourhood but our property itself was beautiful. Full of orange trees, beautiful table arranged on terraces with views of the garden and beyond. The area is full of mansions surrounded by walls. Nearby was a lovely garden bar/restaurant called perivoli. We enjoyed an evening there. One needs a car if staying in this area.

Kampos is a nice area full of older mansions, many restored for use as bed and breakfast. The mansions typically have high walls, and extensive gardens inside the courtyards, full of trees and flowers. It is generally a quiet area, very quaint, and close to major roads leading south, north, and west, not far from the capital city and the airport. We ate at a variety of establishments, both in the nearby village and on the coast. All had fresh seafood and local dishes and the prices were very reasonable. We didn't find a place anywhere that could be considered a "tourist trap."

The rooms are situated in a stunning villa in the Chios Kampos, the old town. The rooms face the gardens which have many fruit trees and cats. It's a peaceful spot. Poli who runs the apartments was very friendly. She advised shops where you can order coffee etc to the room and suggested different activities such as tours. The room was clean with WiFi, TV and air conditioning. I was also able to laundry for no extra cost which was appreciated.. It's quite near many old villages and beaches

Loved the place. Pantelis is a very kind, attentive and helpful person. He personally pinned the locations-to-visit on the map he gave me. He is also a fan of Queen (the band), like me :). The building is a restoration of an old Genovan estate using the same materials, so it is beautiful. The room I stayed was large and comfy. The hotel also has an orchard with orange trees from which they make their delicious home-made marmelade. Thanks for everything.

I needed last minute accommodations and fortunately, there was availability at this little gem. It was exactly what I needed…clean, comfortable and Mitsi was a fantastic host. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to others travelling to Chios. ευχαριστώ για όλα Μίτση !!!!
