Our stay at Royal Nest Villa was a great experience! Perched on top of a hill, the villa offers a beautiful panoramic view of the sea in front, hills all around, and tall mountains in the distance :) We loved having our coffee in the morning on the terrace and taking in the beauty all around. It's also super quiet, only the cicadas keeping us company - perfect for romantic evenings under a starlit sky The villa is modern and well distributed, with a thoughtful layout - you can really feel at home and we feel it's perfect for a longer stay. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped for cooking, has everything you need, including a high-quality dishwasher. The rooms are spacious enough, with plenty of storage spaces and, most importantly, very good beds. We slept very well. The swimming pool is very well maintained, the water is cool, perfect for hot days when we were too late to catch the morning sun on the beach. You can get to Komos Beach in 5–8 minutes by car or 20 by foot. Matala Beach is also a 10 mins drive away. There is also a quiet, scenic walk to nearby Kalamaki. Konstantinos was an amazing host — very responsive, attentive and willing to go the extra mile to fulfill our requests. For us, the choice of staying here was totally worth it, we felt so lucky to catch a last minute availability and we definitely want to return.

Great and quiet location very close to the main square in Pitsidia and easy enough walk to the beach. Sofia is very helpful and the common kitchen and laundry room were wonderful. The courtyard patio was the perfect place to hang out.

Nice for a night. Or two. or just visit. I would not stay in the village, too crowded, narrow roads. Next to impossible to drive outside the main road, if they had any brains they would had made the roads pedestrian and have parking lots. The smell of shit from the drainage next to restaurants does not work well either.

Although most people drive through Pitsidia on their way to Matala, off the main road lies a charming characterful village with a lovely square with excellent tavernas. The location is great for the beautiful Komos beach (and those of Matala and Kalamaki too) with easy access to historic sites like Faistos. There is a well known excellent bakery/coffee shop. Accommodation ranges from apartments and small guest houses to super luxury villas.

Small place with a lot of charm.

Small place with a lot of charm. don't miss the pizza's of basicilo and Kantifes restaurant for cretian food. If vegetarian or Vegan, dont' hesitate to book a table in the green coucounary (tasty and cosy). you are 5 min car from Matala.

Pitsidia is just a small town nothing here , maybe a dozen...

Pitsidia is just a small town nothing here , maybe a dozen restaurants [ in summer] pharmacy, bakery , nothing to view here rather its the area you could explore. Kommos beach is close , Minoan ruins at Kommos beach [not open to public but you can see everything through the fence]. Phaistos and Agia Triada are only few minutes by auto. I walked to Matala along the coast [ found huge fossils and i believe salt pans carved out of bedrock. Don’t do this during hot weather although there was a nice rock bay half way where you could go for a dip. Definitely take lots of water.

We did not see very much of Pitsidia as we were warned about...

We did not see very much of Pitsidia as we were warned about narrow streets so did not want to take the car, and it was too hot (mid 30's) to walk very far. We did see the outside of the church though, and the square, both not far from our accommodation. There are some fascinating little alleyways, like in most Cretan villages and towns. The 3 tavernas we went into on the main road were all good, we particularly liked Babi's. If you are young and fit it would be a nice village to explore.

The apartment was perfectly located and had a small balcony with a great view to the mountains. Kitchen was very well equipped and the shower nice and hot. Light and bright. Pitsidia is a great base with lovely gorge walks, beaches and Roman sites nearby. Don’t miss the amazing folded rocks at Apopystra or the beautiful Red beach near Matala. We booked 3 nights and then stayed another 3. Fantastic value and great restaurants in Pitsidia.

I just spent a wonderful three nights/two full days at this peaceful little pension in the heart of Pitsidia. I had a few chats with the lovely Jodi who has a very interesting life story and knows everything about the area. I fell in love with my large and clean room right away. There is a communal veranda and kitchen for those who do not want to eat out every night. Very reasonably priced too! Jodi's is the perfect place for everyone who wants to explore the general Matala region. Highly recommended.

Very friendly staff and very good breakfast (à la carte). The hotel is in a very convenient position,good to reach a lot of interesting places. The greenery outside the hotel is beautiful (beautiful garden on the back, huge trees on the front and a pleasant veranda where you can have breakfast) and the village is beautiful and full of good restaurants.

Fantastic location, only a few minutes' drive from Matala and right in Pitsidia. The view from the room is amazing and it was fantastic to start each day by sitting at the balcony with a cup of coffee, absorbing the views. Also parking is readily available, and the homeowner, a sweet old Cretan lady, is wonderful and nice!

Pitsidia is a small town and Sofia rooms was easy to find. Sofia is very friendly and helped us with our questions. The room was clean and comfortable. There were mini marts nearby as well. The property has a shared kitchen with a washing machine which was a great help.
