Host met us to help us get our bags to the apartment. The studio apartment was nicely appointed and had everything we needed. The view from the balcony was amazing, and we sat out there as much as possible. Free parking was available a short walk from the apartment. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.

Located on a beautiful estate and gardens, Apartment Fachin is part of a family-run winery. The hosts were kind and we were greeted with a complimentary choice of wine. The apartment was cute, clean, and spacious with a helpful washing machine. The wines and platter of homemade meats with local cheese and bread were delicious; we bought a rose’. Close to cute Montovun…we would stay here again.

Great little town to walk around in. Great local wineries.

Great little town to walk around in. Great local wineries. Amazing local fruit stand as you make your way up the hill. He had the best selection of the most wonderful fruit and veggies. The ice cream was fantastic. Sampling of truffles and local alcohol without being pressured was amazing. Just fantastic hospitality overall shown by the locals.

Motovun is a wonderful place full of history and unique charm, though travelers should know that almost all of the restaurants and bars are closed during the month of February. In February it resembles a ghost town.

Beautiful ancient town with much to see and lots of great restaurants and shops. Not great for people with mobility issues of any kind. The walking is a bit of a workout. Very steep hills and cobblestone roads. Parking seems to be an issue.

Motovun is a charming and almost fairy-tale like village on...

Motovun is a charming and almost fairy-tale like village on a hill. We felt like we had completely gone back in time; yet, we had easy access to almost all of the rest of Istria from there, including seaside towns, wine tasting, truffle hunting, olive oil tasting and local shopping. The furthest town was Pula. Everything else was more like 30 minutes. We are spending two weeks in Croatia and we are so thankful we spent three days/nights in Motovun as our hub for visiting Istria. Heads up: it is a lot of uphill walking on cobblestones to get into the center of town - but SO worth it.

Great place for lovers of medieval hill-top towns and...

Great place for lovers of medieval hill-top towns and truffles. One can enjoy just a stroll through the town and views of surroundings for an hour, can have a great dining experience or stay for days and explore Istria, one of the prettiest and welcoming places on earth. "Medieval" and "hill-top" also mean that you walk a lot on rugged cobblestone, you walk uphill and climb stairs, and "great place" means it's crowded in the high season (summer). Still, one of the better places to escape to from crowded coastal towns, focused primarily on visitors' wallets.

A classic medieval town that was so fun to explore.

A classic medieval town that was so fun to explore. Be sure to visit the cathedral (opened about 10 during our visit) and (carefully) climb the bell tower for a spectacular view of the valley and beyond. We visited in late October when some businesses had closed for the season and others were winding down. We would visit again in September.

Jakov met us and showed us the property. He also organised parking for our car which was a big bonus. Motovun is quite hilly and steep so taking a small bag would be advisable. The unit was very large with a separate bedroom and the combined lounge and kitchen. The bed is very comfortable, and the shower is hot. Location is fantastic, It would help to be part mountain goat. That would be the case anywhere that you stay in Motovun. Really wish we had more time to stay longer.

We had a wonderful stay at Prospect Motovun Studio. The apartment was beautiful, cozy, and perfectly located just next to Motovun, with amazing views of the surroundings. Everything was very clean, well equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was extremely kind and welcoming, which made our experience even better. Highly recommended!

The location was superb, with breakfast on the terrace looking down on the lovely view. The pick up and drop off from the car park worked really well. The rooms were large and very comfortable, with powerful air con. There were several restaurants to choose from on the street next to the hotel.

Nice and clean apartment in a quiet village next to Motovun and the Parenzana trail. The owner lady was very kind, she left us a bottle of wine and water in the fridge on our arrival.
