This is a new hotel opened in August 2024 and that is why I chose to stay in it. So everything about the hotel is quite perfect for a 4 star hotel. Just to point out the good stuff - The hotel and the rooms are new and very clean. The bathroom fittings are top class - I have always had a weakness for large shower heads. Breakfast is up to standards. Staff are courteous and very helpful. A special mention for the young lady with glasses who works in the restaurant- always smiling and helpful . The location is excellent, right in the city center.

What a gem of a hotel. Its in the middle of downtown, yet super quiet. I celebrated the birthday of my partner there and the entire team was simply exceptional. They assisted me with a beautiful room setup to surprise him and went over and beyond to make our stay memorable. Furthermore, the staff are top notch. Everyone greeted us with a genuine smile and professionalism, from Maria ( thank you again :) ), who assisted us at check in, to the staff in the restaurant , spa, reception area… everyone was always simply amazing. If you think about a get away in the middle of Budapest or you want to surprise a loved one, dont think twice and book a stay in this hotel. The staff are exceptional and will make sure you ll have the most amazing stay.

FAQs about hotels in Budapest

A City of Two Halves

With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.

Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it has the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.

Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try them than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.

To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur and, based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.

With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels available in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes it an easy choice.

Beautiful city.

Beautiful city. To see all places of interest I recommend hop on hop off busses, it’s possible for a day from early morning till late afternoon. Buda castle is on different busses and tickets, we visited on the second day. My very high recommendations are for the Chain bridge, Margaret island, New York cafe, Buda castle, goulash and chimney cakes.

Budapest is a beautiful city that I enjoyed very much and would highly recommend visiting. Although I only had two days for sightseeing, I feel that the city deserves much more time to fully explore its charm and attractions. The public transport system is excellent, making it easy to get around and see the many impressive landmarks. I particularly enjoyed visiting the Great Synagogue, Budapest Eye, the stunning Parliament building, Chain Bridge, and Buda Castle (Royal Hill), all of which offered unforgettable views and experiences. Overall, Budapest exceeded my expectations and is definitely a city worth seeing.

Charming city, plenty of places to dine, obviously well renowned for its thermal baths. Expect to find beggars but it still feels safer than many UK cities. Many open air late night cafés, cheap and easy to get around.

We stayed for three days in Budapest. We hoped that we'd have a few more days to hang around. I'd say one week is probably just get you to fully enjoy the scenes and visiting the historical sites and museums. I'd recommend some of the good restaurants on the Buda side for the quality (not as touristy) food for a great price. Don't forget to try the goose liver dinners in Budapest! Specifically Comme Chez Soi and Kacsa Etterem.

Overall it was one of the worst experiences we had...

Overall it was one of the worst experiences we had travelling in Europe . Not due to the place or the monuments , these are astonishing! But because of the people : they are rude , they hardly speak any English , they give you the impression they are super bored (serving you a coffee, a meal or helping you understand something you asked ). And another nightmare is ..the TIPPING !! Absolutely everywhere we went they forced us to tip them (15-25%) for doing absolutely nothing ! We even purchased two bottles of water from a kiosk and the lady asked us to tip her !! Food is overpriced everywhere for no reason at all ! Water is overpriced (0.5l for 4€) They overcharge everywhere you go , even the cost of the tickets in museums and other sights is higher by 40% when you go to the cashier to buy the ticket , making it impossible to track how much money you spend!! And the taxis!! Be careful of some drivers they practically steal you by asking to be paid in euros or by simply taking the longest route for a distance that would cost you half the money (they ask tips as well ) . We tip everywhere we go but here in Budapest we felt highly annoyed because the tip was like a ..sweet blackmail, you were obligated to do it either you liked the service or not .. Other than that , Budapest is a beautiful city , clean and very neat. There are two big parks worth visiting . The sights are amazing and it is a safe city . Also the Danube cruise is a must do . Try the langos ( the one with sour cream and cheese is the original one ) and the Kurtos (chimney cake) . The trams and buses are super crowded (and overpriced) so it's either walking or taking an Uber.

I was honestly disappointed with Budapest.

I was honestly disappointed with Budapest. I had much higher expectations, but my experience was very different from what I imagined. The only place that truly impressed me was the Hungarian Parliament building—it was beautiful, especially at night. Unfortunately, I didn't feel safe in many parts of the city. There were many intoxicated people in the streets, and there was a strong smell of cannabis in several areas. I also suffered from food poisoning during my visit and had money stolen, which made the experience even more stressful. Overall, Budapest was not an enjoyable destination for me, and I left feeling disappointed.

I’ve visited Budapest many times and stayed at different hotels and hostels, but Hillside apartments has been the best accommodation I stayed in Budapest so far. Everything is super clean (the bathroom, the bed linen, towels etc.), the neighbourhood is really quiet, and we also had a balcony to enjoy our morning coffee. Bus stop is nearby, you can reach the city centre in 30 min. I totally recommend this peace for the excellent quality-price ratio! The host is also very kind and considerate (thank you Balazs!)

This is my 2nd visit in 15 months. I actually upgraded to a junior suite !!! Absolutely luxurious for only an extra £20 a night. One of the best city break hotels I have stayed in from all over Europe. Spotless, luxurious, most friendliest staff I have ever met. Best location in centre but very quiet and still private. 5 mins from Danube, shops, restaurants and easy to catch transport to attractions. Can’t rate this hotel highly enough to anyone visiting Budapest. More like a 5 star hotel!

We are a couple from Noway that stayed from thu-mon. Very nice hotel. Must be a pretty new hotell. Very good breakfast. Location is good and central close to the Opera wich is nice to use as a reference point. Metro to Széchenyi bath is close. Just use the opera station. Not far to walk down to city centre. Or use a kickbike. If we go back to Budapest we would probably use this hotel again.

Slightly away from the City Centre, but easy to walk into. If not as mobile then Uber works well. Would definitely recommend, if I go back to Budapest, then I'll have no hesitation in booking again.
