Supermarket and good restaurant at walking distance. My room was very spacious and quiet. Personnel is very kind and supportive; they rearranged my dates without penalty.

HungaryEverything was perfect! We only came for a night but everything about the place, the staff, food and facilities was great! Will definitely come back with family!
One of my best stays so far!
We went out for a long walk in the woods where after we had a really good dinner in the hotels restaurant and than enjoyed the spa.
Totally recommend it!
The staff was really helpful and kind, cheers to the young waiter guy.

Very good hiking treks.
Very good hiking treks. Excellent home-made strudel (rétes) at one of the local delis. Locally farmed trout is on the menu of all restaurants; waffles and pizza are available as fast food.
Hikers are recommended to to see the old quarry at Bél-kő, the cave at Istállós-kő and the small waterfall on the way to the latter.
The town is home to the country's Lipizzan horses and a newish arena for equestrian combined driving.
If you arrive through Budapest/Eger, stop at Szarvaskő for a coffee at Makákó — one of the best breweries in Hungary.

Very expensive village compared to what's actually available...
Very expensive village compared to what's actually available. Only a few restaurants which cost the same as higher-quality restaurants in the capital, and only a few things for sightseeers. Not much to do for days in case of rain.
I'd recommend against going to the cave, because people have been doing their business inside. Szilvásvárad is good for like a 3-4 days trip, but nothing more.

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely kind and professional, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was well equipped and comfortable, and the continental breakfast was delicious with a good selection. It’s a great place for spending a few relaxing days. We also appreciated that parking was available. Overall we had a very positive experience.

Tastefully decorated hotel through out, spotlessly clean. Very comfortable, huge bed, beautiful garden view from the windows.
All staff were very polite and welcoming. I need to mention Solt, our waiter who was outstanding: always smiling and happy to help.
The hotel is perfect for a romantic gateway and rejuvenation. Lovely spa and massage.
Definitely would stay there again.

Cozy place, my kids loved the stairs, wooden interior, and their private space upstairs. Convenient parking. Great location right at the entrance of the national park, supermarket, restaurants, pharmacy, train station in walking distance. Éva is an awesome host and her bistro (Buteko) is strongly recommended too. Overall very nice experience.

Overall preparation of the apartment, the garden, the parking, the attitude of the owner, and especially attention paid to the tiniest details. The apartment and the surroundings is very well equipped and designed. It is clearly shown that the owner is using his experience to foreseen any potential need of his guest.

The meals were outstanding. The bus stop was very close to the hotel. It was a quiet place. We heard nothing from other rooms or downstairs. The decor was magnificent. The table settings were first class. We loved the paintings too
